This is not a place to post credentials nor doing diagnosis for anybody. I just thought we could talk about proved cases or potential ones,make claer what a psychopath is and the threats, and above all learn from each other. But you are right, this is something that has to be taken prudently, first of all because one can deem someone psychopath when he/she is not, or deem it "normal" when he/she is psychopath.
Unless a psychopath rapidly kills you or sacks all your bank account with one of his schemes, one might have time to notice the evolution of the psychopath and draw partial conclussions..and then what? just get away as soon as possible even without being sure if he is a typical psycho or belongs to other sets of disorders..
It is true, but it does nto work with Psychopathy. A psychopath does need to recognise the problem (unless it helps him in his nefarious goals), it is part of his condition but on the other hand he cannot be treated in any way (nor drugs, no psychologycal therapy, no social therapy)...
It seems that they are just other type of human beings set apart from society, feelings and all that.
That is the enormous problem of terminology. The DSMs have had enormous problems to describe the emotional side of a Psychopath, and that has been the cost of trying to draw the concepts into a "more observable area", in other words, behavior. Hare, who has been the designer of one of the best tests for Psychopaths, has discussed these definitions from both the World Health Organization and the American Psychiatry Association.
In fact, his interests is, now, not the plain psychopatic criminals, with whom he worked before, but those disguised in society: big government officers, business people, politicians, religious gurus, etc....
I hope it was self control because of the little kid. But the point is the anger living inside for many years. This i amazing, some people might not have it though, but the fact that hatred can be stored due to psychopatic action (sorry if I am not politically correct) gives foundation to understand why the world goes down the hill to catastrophe...
I am not form the US , so I shoudl not say much about Politics there. Anyway, the guy makes me puke. He is the image of a selfish, indolent, plastic imbecile, talking and talking crap that, he thinks, sounds as the winds of change....
Other politicians are the same but this one has certain particular nasty style.. I am sick of reading his name here, but everybody is free to write about whatever they want...
Well, it is unrealistic for me because I have not come across a compatible one as you might have done. I do not complain...maybe one has not because of our own blockages inside. I respect your perspective but I know that some people have inner forces that always pull them away. I have them and I prefer to talk about that. I am straight to the ladies: "I am not looking for love because when I start feeling trapped.. I mean my inside trapped then I hate not being myself.." It filters many of them but it is fine. It leaves me in peace and saves lots of pain.
TO carry an ego is to carry a big stupid burden, however useful that is for other survival tasks (including socializing) I think the bigger the more fragile ... I think mine is fragile though I teach myself the hard way to ignore it, which means to ignore oneself wit the ensuing suffering it brings about... I congratulate you for this thread. I alos think , the bigger your ego, the less reccomendable to have someone else...to put the big burden on someone else never works well...
It is true, a final assesment needs some tools, and even those tools do no seem to work perfectly, nowehre near that, in fact. Brain imaging or any other kind of tecnique to detect "different functioning of the brain" are not good enough either, as many psychopaths do not show the kind of abnormalities even if their marks are high for the PCL-R(Psychopathy Checklist revisited) or the APD(Antisocial Personality Disorder) criteria. Psychopaths are usually recognised when the dots of their life are connected, and we cry over the havoc they leave behind.
Probably some of them, but it is not necessary something directly related to their condition. THere are many conditions, even the so called normality, where people can talk to themselves.. if someone talking to oneself thinks he/she is talking to someone else, instead of reflecting or telling oneself something loud, then he/she suffers from some type of hallucinations. That is something in which typical psychopaths would never spend their time with...
I am not sure..but the pic does not make a good conversation.. and if they have bad intentions ..i will try not to fall in their devious plans so easily. I never do.
a bullet maybe cheaper and easier?... psychopaths would choose that as a solution for others... In fact, brain surgery in ancient civilizations might have been intended to make changes (toward certain direction) in people..
THose psychopaths are of interest when it comes to human relationships .... the delusion of people about "good" people, "honest" politicians and all that. I think the latest efforts of some scientists are in the direction to understand those psychopaths...
I never meant the opposite, that is part of their features: callousness, craftiness, obssesive planning.. pleasure on what they are doing... I meant that they have to unleash their havoc one way or the other in the course of their lives. They are programmed in their brains to do so. That is all, and I did not mean that it is harmless at all.
Ok I do not wnat to discuss your admiration , love and pride. But overstatements are the basis of nationalistic fundamentalism which always leads to turmoil Do not forget that we are just talking....
I am not defending psychopaths ...in certain states of the US, those that become killers are executed on the basis that they would kill again and there is nothing to do about them... this is my point... I think they are beyond moral judgement. PLease, I am not challenging your views , just trying to understand things too.
Well, that is all about Psychopaths and their baits... it works so naturally... it is a trait inside. I still think.. there is something, some subtle indication that uncovers them...I am not so sure what yet...
