The problem is this, and it prophetic, family courts, in the uk and i assume the usa, along with feminists have developed a society where its ok not to commit and to have responsiblity.

It is virtually impossible to get acces to your children if you split from youor wife etc, for months on end. This leaves the child bereffed and in control of the mother who does not want nothing to do with the father. The courts will not let the father get access to the child because it takes time to go court, plus lawyers need to show that they have tried to resolved this out of court. When this fails they go to court, so by the time court date arrives the child has not seen his father for min of six months to a year if lucky. Some fathers get fed up and demoralised at this point and just get on with their live and lie in hope the child will come to see them.
The next stages once you get to court, is endless repetition, makeing agreement which the the mother breaks the court do nothing, the agencies that suppose to represent the child really are theere for the mother. The mother can do no wrong, she can leave the children on their own and face not consquences until it becomes to late.
The father has to prove he is commited to the children, that means he has to be obseved, the mother does not need to do this. The father is watched, written upon, every word he says is noted and used against him. Would yo want to go through this? most would not so some father give up.
Then the next stage is reqular access, but only for 1 hour per week, some holidays etc. Would you go through above just for 1 hour per week. When some thing goes worng its back to court, but in the mean time contact stops and you do not see your kids for months if not years, the mother is let off again, and by this time its to late the kids are not kids no more and they are not intrested. Would you go through this.

Fathers haave to applie for temp custody. MOthers will only loose chidlren if she cannot prove she looked after them and shows no intrest, but if she decides to want the kids, she can get the back legaly even after 5 years in the fathers custody.

social workers will never take the children off the mother, except if she is going to killl them, even then its never taken seriously. Children have been run over with the mother being there. Children young as 9 years old are allowed to take their sibliings to school who are only 6 and 8 years old on their own, left on their own, go on the internet on their own.
If the house is dirty, social workers do not look at this they look at the children and if the children are happy they ignore the filth.
