..but I've screwed up really badly!!! I'm landing in London, whereas it seems I should have landed in Birmingham!!!
I did check for B'm, but no cheap tickets, and I thought it wouldn't matter anyway. Now it turns out Summer is miles out of London. Then I thought, that's ok, catch a train to her. Thinking of how relatively easy and affordable intercity train travel is in Italy, I assumed it would be that way, too in England. Not so, it seems!
A mixture of excitement on my part, having found a really cheap fare, and Summer's avoidance of answering her bloomin 'phone for nearly 24hrs, thinking I was a telemarketer!!! has turned everything all pear-shaped!!!
So now it might be a case of just wearing it, and cutting my losses for that ticket. Summer can still come and meet me in Florence for a few days as planned anyway, right Missus?
Who else has had the best laid plans go all skew wiff in an instant? Go on, fess up! It can't be just me!
Oh, any helpful advice will be greatly appreciated.
scottyburd: Jeez venere what a bummer, cant Summer meet you in London..
Well, poor Summer is trying to come up with something, but the last thing I ever wanted was to place her under any unnecessary pressure. Besides the potential expense. I've never been to London, my first time ever. We'll work on a solution, otherwise, hey, I'm happy to meet in Florence, it will be really nice anyway. I shall have to put off high tea with Fergie!

Surely the trains can't be THAT expensive? What about renting a car for a couple of days? The distances aren't that far compared to Australia or even South Africa!!! Could be a nice way of seeing a bit more of the country... Then you could go to Italy together? Good luck with your trip, and sure you can make a plan to meet...

Hi leo, that's what I thought, too. But Summer informs me differently. ordinarily it wouldn't matter for either of us, but on this occasion each of us will be doing other traveling just before then, so it's not so simple. As for me, it's cost me a packet from Aussie Land to Italy, and all the rest during my time there.
Nakedpackage: National express coach is inexpensive.
It's a matter of the timing of my arrival there. Can't be catching a coach that might arrive at Summer's in the middle of the night, or stuck at some station somewhere.
I know absolutely nothing about England, so I'm really commenting in a vacuum here. Sorry if I sound really misinformed.

Coaches are frequet, cheap but take ages to get anywhere due to stopping at every bus stop they can find.
Look at trains again, you can book online and get the price up to 50% off, tains are not expensive and the only way your going to get from A to B quickly other tan a taxi.

Yikes, forget the coaches, then. I'd hate that after the eurostar trains!
Thanks for that suggestion.
I will look up train timetables online, as Summer works out her own movements. Good idea.
