RE: MICHAEL JACKSON AND THE BROWN PEOPLE

You're naughty, Liakos..scold .. but it was funny laugh

Michael Jackson was undisputedly a great performer and singer, original and one of the best of all times.

Here's my favourite, to start a beautiful day:

RE: Love songs for all you romantics.

Jan, for you. Just don't pay attention to his hair grin

Good night and sweet dreams teddybear

On Being Friends

Yes, that's what I meant, Jan. Men always want more, so it seems. They indeed find it difficult to accept that..

I have been thinking that maybe Guiri is right. And he has a point. I don't pretend I am always right.

RE: Your mood today ......

I just witnessed the U.S. Independence Day fireworks in Brussels, on my terrace. It was spectacular!! Lovely, lovely, lovely!

Oh, and have you seen the CS fireworks? That's really cool, too thumbs up

Cheers!cheers

On Being Friends

Good for you, Hathor wave I think that would only be possible when there are no sparks on either side ..

RE: countries in order of living in (who is going to be the winner)

Ooooooooh, how romantic! yay heart wings applause

RE: Hey!!...this could be that HOT date you're looking for!!!!!!

rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

RE: THE NOSTALGIA THREAD ......

Yes, it is. And my sister was also composing music with her own lyrics on them and also poems. You do, too, Cuspo? Why don't you share some more of your poems to us on the poem's thread? It would be a pleasure to read them..

Here's another nostalgic song that reminds me when I had a terrible crush on my World History teacher. Gee, just to get a glimpse of him made my heart skip a beat or two.. and that was real! I wonder how many of the teachers we have here on CS have got students eyeing them with such adoration ..

Here's to all teachers on CS wine

RE: countries in order of living in (who is going to be the winner)

Oops! Hi Jan wave Now I should really stop saying who the winner is..

How wonderful - such diverse cultures to learn and adjust to .. it really makes one very openminded and tolerant to other people.

RE: WHERE IS MALTA?

Mine came when I saw the very picturesque travel documentaries on television during the NATO Summit in Malta that officially ended the Cold War in December 1989.

I think it is one of the loveliest island in the Medittarean sea, along with Rhodos and Cyprus -- places I promise myself to visit one day ..

RE: countries in order of living in (who is going to be the winner)

Oh, yes. Sorry. Imma is still the winner.

Croatia is near the ocean ...

RE: countries in order of living in (who is going to be the winner)

Oh, no! Sommer has even more! Gee, how awesome!

Hey, Sommerwave

RE: countries in order of living in (who is going to be the winner)

Gee, Imma wave You're a citizen of the world! I don't think anybody could beat that -- you're the winner!

Mine are only Philippines and Belgium -- half-half

RE: THE NOSTALGIA THREAD ......

Hi Cuspowave That song reminds me always of my sister. She used to sing that with the guitar, along with the other songs you just posted. And this one, too:

Then I knew she was really in a serious mood ... and I would not dare pester her then (I loved doing that when we were young grin ). And boy, did she play it well .. but more like Carly Simons' style..

Hmmm... very nostalgic, indeed.

RE: How was your day?

Oh, Lago.. you should not mind so much what we say about the speedo thing. You should stay where the crowd is, especially when you're going swimming on your own, so when a white shark starts to attack you, somebody can come to your rescue..

I must admit a baggy thing to swim with is not very practical..laugh .. it's like swimming with kimono on... yikes! laugh

LONGING

by Matthew Arnold

Come to me in my dreams, and then
By day I shall be well again!
For so the night will more than pay
The hopeless longing of the day.

Come, as thou cam'st a thousand times,
A messenger from radiant climes,
And smile on thy new world, and be
As kind to others as to me!

Or, as thou never cam'st in sooth,
Come now, and let me dream it truth,
And part my hair, and kiss my brow,
And say, My love why sufferest thou?

Come to me in my dreams, and then
By day I shall be well again!
For so the night will more than pay
The hopeless longing of the day.

RE: THE NOSTALGIA THREAD ......

This song reminds me of the glorious mornings when I was young .. when I woke up with such a joy in my heart, basking in the glory of the morning sun, hearing the birds singing, sighing in contentment and humming in anticipation for another lovely day.. That's how I remember those mornings in our family home -- such feeling of contentment and peace..

This music was such a hit then and I loved it:

RE: WOOOOFFFYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY....

RE: Where is the coffee shop these days???

laugh That's really funny!

Thanks, Wooffy beer

Where is Marti now, you think?

RE: Where is the coffee shop these days???

Oh, you know what, I've had friends and colleagues who were from Seattle, and they said that our weather here is so much similar to Seattle's - the temperature, the rain .. oh, and the coffee, too.. that's where Starbucks started, if I'm not mistaken..

RE: Where is the coffee shop these days???

Ja, I know. I've actually developed an allergy to too much sunshine, would you believe. I've been living here for nearly 25 years. But this is now my home and I love it here. And the people, too.applause

RE: Where is the coffee shop these days???

laugh To tell you the truth, I'm used to the gray Belgian weather. I love the Belgian weather -- gray, rainy, gray .. even my favourite colour is now gray. I'm already starting to miss it..

I think the Baileys is taking effect.. a double is a bit too much, I guess..dancing

RE: Where is the coffee shop these days???

Thanks, Wooffy. Those pink elephant ice are magnificent!laugh

Cheers!

Ha, yes, I know, but it's probably best I'll be back to work. It's airconditioned there. Too hot here .. esp. I'm on the top floor of a 12-storey apartment building. I like it here, but rather hot when we have a weather like this.

Are you complaining about the Belgian weather again? I thought you like it with sunshine. Now you get sunshine .. full blast..

cheers
