Well, that is the purpose of the cotton bud, silly. It's from all the earth they throw in the casket when they put it in the ground. That's why I'd prefer cremation, I don't fancy having cotton buds in my nose.. not very elegant

You have very good points there. I have an 82-year-old neighbour who had a house in Calpe, Spain, but has come back to Brussels for those same issues you mentioned.

I have also seen the film, "Under the Tuscan Sun", Sommer. Beautiful place, rustique .. I think it would be lovely if you're intending to make it a second home. I've never been there, though.. just an impression I got from the film. I have colleagues at work who've been there on vacation. They say the local wine is also good.

Hi Sommer! Yes, you're right - nobody in particular chased her away, don't even think it was you, guiri. She said she kind of got tired of being made fun of a lot when she was trying to be serious, then when she tried to go along with it, it still wasn't right.

I also feel very sorry that she's gone, but I hope she will reconsider when she sees this. I'm sure it will cheer her up. Thanks, folks!
