Do you go the extra mile to prevent yourself from gathering germs from other people.
I keep hand sanitizer in my car for times when I stop to get a snack at a drive in.
I also keep hand sanitizer sheets at my desk for times when I'm asked to relieve the receptionist for an hour. Her keyboard, phone, mouse and phone are loaded with germs.
I have a habit of putting my hands on my face when I'm in deep thought thus transferring germs from other people.
What do you do, if anything, to minimize picking up germs from other people
When I got married in 1962 it was more than just a piece of paper to both of us. Neither of us cheated but he suffered from alcoholism so that put the marriage in trouble. I have no interest in marriage after being divorced 39 years. The only useful purpose a marriage license serves is who gets what in the divorce. It doesn't encourage people to be faithful (loyal) to each other so why bother saying you will.
We want to forget about them but the mind just won't let it go.
I was thinking the other day about all the tradegies in my lifetime. As a woung female from the 50's and 60's generation I would never have thought that I would live to see a President of the United States assainated. That happened to Abraham Lincoln.....it wasn't supposed to happen in my lifetime.
The United States isn't the only country that has experinced horrors in their homeland. I thought those of you from other countries might like to share what you have experienced with the rest of the forum

I'm surprised that they still work. They made quality things in the "good 'ol days". Proof is your grandmother is still alive and kicking. God bless her.
Duh on me. Only half way through first cup of coffee.
You are the same age as my daughter so you don't remember years ago when a snow storm really was a snow storm. You're in the Carolinas now .....don't know if you've always been there....but the south didn't get snow like we did in the north. I can still vividly see myself shoveling snow before my father went to work.
It was a long time ago but it really did happen. We saw it in the movies, newsreels, newspapers, and some of us actually lived during the time when:
- There were air raid drills when I was in school. I had to get under my desk at the sound of a siren
- At night my parents pulled the shade and curtains to create a "blackout"
- People built bomb shelters in their basements
- "I remember when" I had to walk to school in 4 feet of snow. Young people hear that all the time and they laugh. It was unheard of for your parents to drive you to school when I was a youngster
- My mother washed my hair with egg shampoo and rinsed it with vinegar to make it shine
