RE: Wolves in Sheepie's Clothes..

I noticed there were no more replies. Is my horsing around offending anyone? If it did, I'm sorry--rocrying

RE: Is it me Or has all the IM's gone???

careful what you wish for lovie--many of the members have blocked IM'ng because of some problem or another, and some of us don't get the "attempt", what I mean is the screen will say we have an incoming or that someone "tried" to IM, but then it doesn/t go through or work. I don't bother with it either way, and the last time I tried to IM it kind of scolded me and said that viewer wouldn/t accept or whatever. Too much crappola for me.

RE: My favourite " bad" joke.

could you explain?confused

RE: Wolves in Sheepie's Clothes..

It's kind of difficult at times because many will say in their thread/post that they want honesty but if you are direct, then they get very defensive and scolding. So to be a good neighbor, so to speak, sometimes we'll try to give an answer that is what they might want to hear, but then it's not entirely what we are really thinking. Watered down truth is like skim milk--it may nourish but it tastes kind of flat. know what i mean jelly bean? For instance, a recent thread asked about , no, forget it. I won't go there this time. If a member wants to ask a question, I say it is fair to imply the "no holds barred" rule. If you don't want to know, don't ask. It is completely unfair to ask and then complain.

RE: What do the want?

You are so cool Bud. I'm glad we're friends. You come across as crusty and crunchy, but you're chewy on the inside! Nice guy, and yes, thanks for the tips.hug

RE: What are three main things you look when you open a profile? (after photo, of course)

well, the poll only allowed me to answer one of the three choices it gave, so the other two would be location and "other". (the first was age). The other, as it were, could be a couple of things, but believe it or not whether the person can spell and if they have a good command of words is important to me. Now, I know that many people who are highly intelligent just aren't good at spelling -(I actually had a college professor who did NOT grade on spelling and punctuation, which is rather lame if you ask me.) (and...actually the middle finger tells the tale, too, girls. The English and Irish have long declared it's the distance between the thumb and first (fore) finger stretched as far as possible. I've always wondered about those men who are double-jointed. A man with dimples on his cheeks (at the corners of his mouth) is a likely horseman (sic) and dark haired men tend to have much to write home about. was this helpful?

RE: What do the want?

there are several of these sorts of things that made it to my regular (not CS) e-mail, one very brazen lament for money from a widow. I almost didn't open it, as that can cause viruses if this is being done. My suggestion would be if you don't know the sender and/or have not solicited for anything or any comments, then just delete those without opening. I mean, if it's not something you asked for, it's probably crap. For real communication won't use these ploys. And for God's sake, folks, do NOT give out any information on "links to" requests.(PayPal has been inundated with this for the past month.) Real organizations do NOT do business this way. Be smart. love you allhug

Just needing some friends' shoulders today

Hi Honey--of course I will have to "get over" it, one can't let a thing eat them up. I just hold tightly on to some ideals I would still like to believe in in America. According to some research I have done, it isn't likely that the smoking bans in place will stay that way--people are just too independent, even the non-smokers, to tolerate it. I am counting on the tenacity of the American spirit to rise above this. Why is the smoking issue so important? I really don't know. It just is so brazenly unjust, I guess. And it's obvious that many of the people who get to make the laws realize this, too, so I am losing my admiration and trust in people I love. It is disheartening. thanx for the hugs, and thanx Soldier, for writing, too. You're one of my faves, very much so. hug hug hug hug hug hug to all--(You people show that you really care about other folks. I do know that it'll be fine...just a flesh wound, mate! as Montey Python would say...

Just needing some friends' shoulders today

I understand everyone's point of view. And it would be really easy for me to say "yes" to the smoking ban because I don't smoke. There was a very good compromise offered that wouldn't have upset the apple cart either way. But NO, these people wanted to make it clear that they could MAKE other people do what they say. Uncool. THAT'S what is wrong with it. Not about smoking--about control. The very thing we fought hard to get away from here.

Just needing some friends' shoulders today

You might remember my request for info awhile back regarding smoking bans. Well, last night our city council voted 4-3 to ban smoking in the park nearest my house. I am so bummed. We (those in opposition) did good background work and gave thoughtful and appropriate talks. There is plenty of documentation pointing to the likelihood of these sorts of ordinances getting recalled--they are largely unenforceable, anyway, and at least two judges in other areas have thrown cases (where stiff ticket fines were imposed) out of court, citing harassment and provocative and inhumane treatment. Of course the proponents have noble ideals, but banning smoking OUTDOORS is outrageous in a country we call "Free". I am so bummed. Someone soothe my nerves, please. BTW--I don't smoke and don't like to be around it. This is not about smoke. It is about allowing one group to intimidate and control another, and I am more against that than someone having a cigarette. Man, I am so upset by this. First one to answer gets a big warm genuine hug. thanx

RE: A little bit of human touch

confused if I go to the beach and camp overnight and have the time of my life, should I say "I don't need to ever go to the beach again because I've already done that"? Of course I would still be interested in CS forums--friends are friends wherever and I have to admit I really don't get why this question. It seems a little funny. So the answer to this peculiar question is "no", as I would, indeed, still be interested in the CS forums.(It would have been easier to answer if it had been succinctly presented:

"If you found a meaningful relationship would you still be interested in the CS forums"? then one could answer either "yes" or "no" . Have you ever thought about going into politics? cool

RE: A little bit of human touch

well nothing beats the real McCoy but I have to say that there are some folks here that I really look forward to seeing and talking with, so not as good, no, but much loved just the same.

RE: Communication

you have neat pictures in your portfolio, soldier. I think you're probably a great guy. relax a bit. Take a swim in the creek or something.
