If wife's are entitled to half a family's wealth (irrespective of whether they directly accumulated any of it themselves) on the basis that they provided the environment for their husband to thrive then when a husband earns his living from crime and the wife knows that shouldn't she be put away as well?
I'm not joking at all, I don't condone violence of any kind but maybe the muslim system is more practical and favorable to women than ours in that they recognize that some men will beat their wife's and legislate to control the level of that beating. If a man breaks their laws maybe (i don't know) they enforce the penalty for breaking the law.
If as it seems they adhere to the Koran then they probably do punish men or men who do beat their wife's do it by the book i.e a humane beating (maybe the word beating is not appropriate maybe its akin to how kids are chastised). How many western women still beat their kids and feel justified in doing so?
On the other hand the west outlaws it completely yet it still goes, again I don't know but I imagine when it does go on its a full blooded assault and i'd say very few cases end up in court.
So if I was a woman living with a wife beater i'd prefer to be a muslim or that he was.
There is a good argument being advocated for legalising drugs so that there use can be controlled. That is not to say that people en mass agree with drug use but the fact is that they will be used whether they are legal or not.
Wife beating is common through out the world, until some miracle happens that stops the practise isn't it better that it be regulated so that if it is done it's done in a humane way.
I bet many muslim men would be as horrified at the idea of beating up their wife's as many western men.
I don't know what the situation is with those muslims who do beat their wife's but maybe they obey the regulations and administer what they call "a light beating" whereas as we know men in the "civilised" west beat the crap out of them.

I was depressed when I lost my soother but I got over it and again when i lost my teddy bear but i got over that too. Thats not to say that I don't miss them especially in bed at night and in the morning but Pam stepped in to fill the vacuum and thank god things are looking rosie now. Most natural remedies are harmless or have a negligible risk of minor side effects whereas many prescribed drugs have serious side effects and don't always do what it says on the tin.
Isn't it marvelous, cs is where to go if you want to learn how to avoid tax (your duty as a citizen) and live of the toil of hard working people struggling to survive with no way to avoid tax.
