Many years ago I read the book and saw the movie Not Without My Daughter. As I remember it wasn't about wife beating but more about control. He tricked her into a vacation in Iran and when it was time to go home he wouldn't let her. Sally Field played the mother and if it wasn't for the CIA, she never would have gotten her daughter back in the U.S.

Yes it is true this is happening in every corner of the world, but only in the middle east it is supported by their culture and law. In countries like Iran men do not go to jail even if they kill their wives. If a am commit a crime like homicide, they put the woman to jail

Thank you for your response, as you said it is all about awareness, as you said this is happening in every culture, there are men who are physically abused, but like I said , at least in western countries, they can go to jail for it. But in the middle east even if they kill the women they don't go to jail , let alone beating them up.

I agree with you, such things are true and happening today.
At the moment there is a 26 year old Canadian woman (Nathalie Morin) from Quebec who has been trapped in Saudi Arabia since 2005 I believe.
