i apologise if i repeat something already mentioned..
but,lets face it-women get beaten up every day,everywhere in the world..
just because they are smaller and have less muscle on them.. its nothing new and nothing to do with religion,is it?for us non-Muslim it does look shocking to see "wife beating"discussed in public and in such manner..
but many things we talk about im sure sound shocking to Muslims...
the only shock for me is the fact that this still happens..we people dont seem to do very well with evolution..

Excellent! Delighted that you said that; of course the very same is true of Christianity with all its various 'denominations' going from one form of extremism to another, but sadly, most 'Christians can't/ won't see it until something happens that causes the Media to either condemn or praise it...
Many of the 'Bible extremists' are really no different from the Taliban's interpretations of Islam while the mainstream condems its own like the Taliban. We all, in a very general way are but mirrors of each other and sadly most of us will never actually get to meet or get to actually know each other, thanks in large part to the Media and the ways in which they portray us to each other.
The Media does what it can to keep people apart and put up more divisions that only encourage various amounts of hostilities; hasn't anyone learned this yet!

I agree. We shouldn't be uniform in this world. So my part of the world here in Europe, should have European culture, not Islamic culture.

I certainly did not post this thread to insult a culture or a religion, they are who they are, and it is just the way it is, but we should be aware of it, and before making a decision emotionally, we should consider these facts.
