Echinacea isn't really a med. It's a plant that stimulates your own immune system to attack the cold virus. Only take it when you need an immune system boost.
As others have said, plenty of fluids, there is scientific evidence that chicken soup will have cold fighting benefits and rest. Some Vitamin C and zinc is also good. Keep your chest and sinuses clear to avoid any secondary infections.
You still will have 5 to 10 days of discomfort depending on your constitution. Hang in there girl.
