Tis a matter of opinion I guess...they are all levels of authority in my mind. You are choosing to acknowledge one very specific aspect of the definition of authority.

I do believe in the context of this definition the management at my place of employment have 'authority'. They certainly have 'the power or right to give orders or make decisions' regarding the people they employ and serve. They also "exercise (administrative) control over others". Additionally they are "an administrative unit of government".

I also feel while I was organizing and maintaining our picket lines during our strikes that I was again participating in challenging authority. Not just our management but our government. Although no one was arrested on our lines, law enforcement did grace us with their presence.......

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I have but one question...Do you work in management?

I don't challenge for the sake of it. Some people I know thrive on being contrary regardless of what they actually believe (if anything)that drive me mad! I certainly do agree and support challenging things that are unfair, unjust oppressive and the like.

SHIVER!!! That's a mild understatement! Say Angela, them kids of yours ...do they do housework as well? Perhaps I was remiss in not having a few of those after all I have been working two weeks straight with no day off so the laundry is up to your eyeballs and the other housework...sigh...can dogs be taught to wash floors? I don't want to do anything but just flake out today.
