If you were paying 55% of your wage, something MAJOR went wrong as they should never ever take that much. Last I knew the maximum they could take was something like 22%. Even the government know you need to survive so taking 55% is not going to happen!
My opinion is any parent who chooses to not pay CS isn't worth the air they breathe.
As someone else mentioned,they pay extra and would go without just so the kids had enough of what they need? THAT is what being a parent is all about. Priorities! This is the answer any loving parent would give.
