well when my kids were younger, I shared the care 50/50 with my ex and cos I worked and that lazy SOB didnt .. the wise ones at the child support agency deemed that I had to pay him child support .. so I had to work more hours to keep my head above water and then I earnt more which then meant I was supposed to pay him more ... friggen unfair system if you ask me 
Up untill last year (I could be wrong) the single person paying child support 55% of their wages. So you work it out how much a single person has left to live on.
From my own personal experance I was earning 800 approx per week. take out 55% of that and see how I managed to pay rent, buy food and pay the gas & elec bill.
If I did any over time I coped a double whammy with the tax man and child support.
So Its not hard to understand why many low lifes dont pay it or quit their job so that they dont have to pay as much.
The rules have been change in favour of the single dads and the amount they have to pay has been reduced. I dont know by how much.

Its outrageous that any parent wouldn't. The thought you can be responsible for bringing a life into the world and not give a fark i just dont get some of these dead beat parents..

There are more single dads around as the teenage pregnancy thing for the quick bucks from Costello's bubs bonus has meant people were only after the dodgie car or plasma and xbox setup.
No thought about the kids and how to provide for them.

In our area, there are so many single parents, we're running out of homes to house them all in. ie: every time someone breaks up, where that couple only required one home, they now require two.
The outer burbs are a haven for single parents and the majority of residents are singles.
The inner burbs are a bit better off owning their home and still together since day zip.
With all of these teen pregnancies, the mum or dad hasn't had a chance to establich themselves or get the skills up to provide a decent income to support their new family.

My ex owes 28,000 my son is now 19 his sister 12 , You can bet your bottom dollar ive spent more than that raising the kids .My eldest is starting uni in 3 weeks bacholor of international studies and journalism.he wont contribute to this either , Ill likely not see a cent eva
I dont really care Ive raised my son and im still raising my daughter I am very proud to say they are both beautiful souls who have bright futures.You cannot force someone to be a good parent

i pay more than i should .i pay school fees etc but i would rather go with out than let my kids go with out
My ex pays $30 a month. Thats all he has to pay acoording to CSA. He hasnt been in my daughters life since she was 4mths. He wont get a job because he knows he has to pay more. However he and his family support his kids from his previous relationship.

Any parent that doesn't pay child support should be ashamed. It is the first thing that comes out of my wage every month. Saying that it is tough surviving on what is left and not sure what i am doing on here as it is almost impossible to date with what little cash is left! Enjoying the kids and the simple things in life.....
