kittykawaii: I never said all men. You didn't read my reply correctly. I said the men in HERE. In this thread, not men in general.
Hope that clears it up for you :)

Nope you can clear it up for me if you like...

wash2u: Been there, done that. Pleased that Murphy's Law aka Family Law Act was introduced (without proper thought of the overall ramifications to both parties) by Lionel Murphy under Gough Whitlam back in the early 70s. Yes, I strongly support that BOTH parents should contribute to their children's upbringing.

However, I do believe that the CSA is very draconian and not consistant in its dealings with either party. The outcome of many CSA dealings has resulted in resentment from many in being forced to live in poverty while their ex-spouse is complaining about not affording the ballet lessons or can't take the current flame to Bali for a holiday.

Having in a past life been the national secretary of Dads Against Descrimination, I came across many different sufferers and those that wanted to inflict suffering. A genuine father does not want to see his children suffer or be deprived. Equity is the name of the game.

I have met many men who have felt that as "she has decided she can do without me, then she can do without my money as I worked and she contributed nothing." WRONG. You both contribute in different ways to your children's upbringing and should continue until they can stand on their own 2 feet.

I am willing to contribute to my children my whole life but object to be forced into doing anything.

Saying all that, parents that refuse to support their children are not really Australian.

Actually I'd rather not. If you're so dense that it goes over your head then i'm not bothered.
I'm hot, bothered and pregnant. Got no time for games sorry. Have a nice day :)

Ta blondeozichick, and I like the thread being about "parents", not just men. There are many women out there who also do not contribute for their children.

Probably more than men when you think about it.
Sitting at home expecting benefits to fall out of heaven.
When I was a single dad, my daughter was in family day care at 4:30am in Bris. while I started at 5am at the warehouse, crappy life for a kid but the family day carer treated my daughter like her own children.
In all that time I never expected anything other than the bare minimum of $20 month from the ex, if you live your life expecting others to make it more comfortable, you ain't got no life at all.
Best to let the money you get from an ex go into a christmas account and learn to live off your own bat.
At the end of the day, you will be a better person for it and not be a whinger going on about how much your ex is behind in child support payments.

very mad dancing dancing very interesting..couple of points...CSA ysed to tell me when i would ring, that not very many parents like my ex actual dont pay support but there seems to be alot..i just wonder how many there actually is...secondly my own experience is..i only recieved it occasionally through garnishing of wage as he never payed it volunteerily...had he ever payed it volunteerily ...then i would have had no need for CSA...they have a huge job trying to recover money from one,s who dont pay...u cant get blood out of stone...Thirdly...unfortunately now she is 20 and understands how the world works..she blaims herself to a small degree that she was not important enough to be supported by a DAD...and has not enjoyed a relationship with his lovely family as a result...he told them he has always payed it..so they used to see me as a gold digger...not winging...just my storyheart wings heart wings heart wings heart beating sad flower

Hey eumundibabe, there are 3 sides to every side, their's, mine and the whole truth. Sorry, not having a go at you personally, and don't doubt you at all, but sometimes Murphys Law screws some of us around, especially when the CSA is involved.

It would seem that some people have been paying their dues to the CSA but it doesn't get through to the recipient, in full or part. But it seems that the CSA is not at fault as its records are accurate. Shame we can't say that about the data inputers or the staff we mere mortals have to deal with.

Sorry eumundibabe, the CSA has blurred our vision of the truth so that at times we do not what to believe

eumundibabe: hi pisceslady7, thank you so much for your advise, and your positive comments

Being a parent of either gender is THE hardest, most rewarding and most important job a person can ever do. It is both difficult and an honour.

Kudos to all of you that do it well.

And yes.....i meant what I said in the previous post. if the world is to change it is up to US and I have given my opinions as to how I feel this can be done.

I wish you all well with your parenting and the privilege it is to be a parent!
