.Golden Rule for me is always pay by Credit card when shopping in the North unless your getting Euro for Pound....and just to emphasise how good shopping in Dundlk is i found €20 outside a shopping centre whilst walking into town this evening and decided to spend it in a near by pub.....the barman servered me the pint of Carlberg and told me it was my Christmas pint ...so free beer and free money not bad
Trying to look at the Positive side.....Can ou find out how much a decent hotel is with ensuite for the night ...also not htat Navans got a bad nam,e but is body armour optional hahahaha
Any accidentle damage...(ie) the odd collision with another planet
Personally i always remember one of them laser guns in my 20s running after friends after coming out of a pub and jumping on car bonnets...way to much bodie and doyle me thinks as an adolescent.....Just seen one in smyths and my kids arnt getting it....i love my car
Am i the only one who thinks this was a pretty fair Budget considering the circumstances
Sure everyones money is being reduced...
Tax payers are being hit ..Social welfare recipitents are being hit...but its no where near as bad as it was in the Eighties
My god i gave up sugar then and still dont take suger to remind me of them times ....i used to survive on wheetabix and tap water(couldnt afford milk) as half my money i recieved was taken up by the rent on my 1 bed flat which had no heating....(No rent allowance in them days)
went to the uk for work and life was good but then the crash in the early nineties had me standing on street corners trying to get work for £20 a day... As a construction worker not rent boy im afraid.....
Ouchhh Diesel up by 5c a litre ....ok ill just try to reduce my driving and walk that little bit more ...see a positive attitude always helps
Les Charmettes is near Bordeaux /La Rochelle which is south/south west ...so in turn it means its in the french wine region and generally known as the 2nd warmest part of France... The first being the more expensive Cote d Azur ,Cannes St Tropez etc.
If you google "Siblu" it will explain all their holiday parks and this is their Superman park and gets a lot of Irish visitors ..you can tell them as there the red faced people with white legs lol... It takes approx 6-7 hours to drive when you get off the ferry in Cherbourg (incedently the ferry has cabaret shows and magicians /bands on as well)...Theres loads of places on the motorway to stop rest eat etc ..Youve got to admire the French roads there so well planned out..
I too used to go to Wales and stay at Haven camps but their prices are loo lahh for what you get in comparisson..Its unreal over there !!! ...Just be careful of Nudist beaches in some areas but there well marked .....Im wondering if im shooting myself in the foot by telling you all this as it might be even harder to book next years lol...incidently you can book now and only pay a €50 deposit(something like that)...but im thinking of holding off to the new year and see if they do any special january deals .....
Your lucky JoJo as most of the companies in France... Keycamp... Eurocamp ... Siblu etc often offer free ferry trips inclusive with a booking for UK residents you just need to find the right deal .....
Booking your holiday dates for the last fortnight in August saves a few euros as well ..the same as getting the ferry midweek ....My ferry last year and holiday came to €1700...A couple i met on the site paid approx €3000 and were sick when i told them i was in an even better mobile home ..I tried to avoid them after that as i didnt want to be thumped
Foxy ...Maybe Jonathan might take you , but be warned youll be addicted once you go once ..
Ive never seen anything like it ...swimming pools/chutes bike hire live indoor entertainment Free kids clubs horse rides go karting etc etc and the weather to enjoy it in .....
Im hoping here to get some updates and share information about getting discounts on family holidays .....
Ive a young family and for the past 2-3 years have been taking my kids over to France as its worked out cheaper the weather is better and i love the ferry journey ..We stay at a 4* Siblu mobile home parks, les charmettes being the last and i wish to go again next summer ..
2 years ago i noticed if i booked on the french siblu site i could get a better deal for the same holiday but when i went to pay for it it wouldnt accept my credit card details ..I contacted the Irish site and was given a discount on their price and told it was a computer error ...Ive since come across another discount ..that if you type the Net Mums discount "sejour" on the uk site you recieve a further 5% off again saving a possibly €150 .. Has anyone else any other suggestions ...Could CS also offer a discount ??
If we all know theres a saving to be made by crossing the border has anyone ever compared the price difference between lidl /aldi in the south and across the border ?? or are their prices always at rock bottom ..
**note** If anyone from Lidl/Aldi are reading this and wish to send me a bumper hamper for Christmas i will have to decline as it is against all cs policys to accept bribes....i can be reached however off the site and will have no problems then
That is actually a line from one of my favourite songs that the Clancys and Tommy Makem had sang which i thought was a fitting tribute ....Thanks for letting me know i lead a sad life
