Depression is an illness, feeling down or fed up is an emotion.
Some depression is caused by chemical imbalances in the brain that no amount of talking can help.
I have lived with depression all my life, I was diagnosed with SAD 6 years ago,a lack of serotonin which can be helped a bit by exposure to daylight but not in all cases.
Thankfully following a stint in hospital I also underwent CBT which has been an incredible help to me and enabled me to reduce my meds by 50%, it helped me recognise the triggers that sink my mood and to put meassures in place to deal with them.
To say it is an emotion is akin to telling someone who is depressed to just get on with it or get over it. Would you tell a diabetic to just get on with it and not take any meds?
I brought a date to a wedding a few years ago and got so pissed off with me not sitting with him and wondering off all the time he went home, I didnt even notice he was gone for over an hour lol
I prefer to go to things like this alone. I am a butterfly when at functions and wander around talking to everyone, I dont like to have to mind someone who may not know everyone else.
The nature versus nurture debate. I always say that anyone who comes down on the side of nurture should come and live with my son lol
He has had very little contact with his father in his life and yet has so many of his characteristics it is almost scary, at 20 he is almost a carbon copy of his dad as he was when I met him.
I agree with you to an extent Clo, I dont believe in using kids as pawns in a relationship and have no time for people that do. However when they are grown I think it is time that they did things for themselves and it is now time for the parent to have a life of their own sometimes we can do to much for our kids and they need to stand on their own feet.
I think the previous thread was the OP asking if he should send flowers to the ladies children as well as her in Valentines day. Not about meeting them.

Is more the amount you earn than the hours hun you can work fulltime and if your money isnt over 425 or 435 cant remember which, Clo posted it earlier, and still claim some OPF payment.
