RE: Greek antiquities in the British Museum.

Heres the bottom line ...I have been a life-long fan of Zawi Hawass The now supreme director of antiquities of Egypt. I have watched his career from his days in the field as an archeologist to his present day position. This man is a visionary, a quiet genius and responsible for piecing together Egypts history on a scale that surpasses ALL Egyptian archeology put together.

Having rightful artifacts returned to his country is his lifes work. In fact he supports ALL antiquities being returned world-wide. As he points out, to do any less is to blatently support robbery and bullying. The man is a genuis and I completely agree with and support his point. This IS the new age. The time of justifying stolen antiquities is simply over. Its wrong and any cilvilized, modern society must recognize this. As well as find mutually beneficial ways of righting a wrong that has gone on far too long. wine

RE: Greek antiquities in the British Museum.

Hmmm we must study different world history as I dont remember the Ottomans founding the Greek empire, Nor the British, nor Egypt, nor Mexico Or really anything beyond the well, Ottoman empire ...Funny thing that, as I would imagine we have both been educated in Canada are the history books really that different between east and west? confused

RE: Greek antiquities in the British Museum.

As to "ownership" Its quite simple really...Country of origin. Period. Pretty black and white, not a lot of grey here. Unless of course you CHOOSE to muddy the issue. Do you? wine

RE: Greek antiquities in the British Museum.

This isnt JUST about Greece, nor Britain...There is a bigger world wide picture here...There should be no "PRICE" how dare you steal from me then charge me for the redemption of my goods... Thats outrageous! There are far more intelligent ways to handle this issue. And I do believe the time has come to handle it. wine

RE: Too Serious?

Your right though there has been FAR too much seriousness and not near enough silliness lately around here...peace

RE: Greek antiquities in the British Museum.

Besides, who gives a flying crap as to what crime some vanished empire pulled off? Welcome to the 21st century, its time to right some wrongs. Theft is theft no matter whos doing the robbing, or when in history it occurred. EVERY museum in the world should restore antiquities to its country of origin. Clean slate, no blame game.

They can make money on loaning out exhibits to one another as well as attracting tourists to view them in their home museums. Right now, tourism can make a big difference to some countries economies. Just think how the publicity over the matter would raise awareness and generate tourism. wine

RE: how do you sleep?

Naked with hope in my heart wink

RE: When (if ever) do you stop thinking?

Meditating helps me with this G. I try and still my mind and reach a meditative state as I fall asleep. I find Im much more refreshed when I awaken the next morning. I do this by meditating on stillness and relaxing all the muscles in my body starting with my face...I have found over the years that I get better with practice. Its no longer a struggle and I can reach nirvana easily now. bouquet

RE: should i say "i love you"

If you havent met him yet, you dont LOVE him. You may be attracted, infatuated, flattered, turned on, but LOVE? not a chance...Meet him and give it a chance to develop into what its meant to be wine
