RE: Which of the Seven Deadly Sins are you most guilty of?

Misakenly thinking you can cope with life, is not a sin Vinny. It's just being human.hug

RE: Which of the Seven Deadly Sins are you most guilty of?

The thought that pride is killing you is often enough to kill you Vinny. I don't think you could ever let pride run away with you. You are too grounded for that.hug

RE: Which of the Seven Deadly Sins are you most guilty of?

The 7 deadly sins are mostly greed anf ego based, but I like the detestable sins better.....

“There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him:

haughty eyes,

a lying tongue,

hands that shed innocent blood,

a heart that devises wicked schemes,

feet that are quick to rush into evil,

a false witness who pours out lies, and

a man who stirs up dissension among brothers”

(Proverbs 6:16-19).

Lots of the detestable ones on here........rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Instant rejection

Typical example on here, of someone I couldn't get on with, is someone who gives you their phone number within a couple of e mails, seems pleasant enough, asks for yours, then if you provide it, persists in ringing you all hours of the day and night, (talking about anything, just to take up your time, and be "with" you).

Usually one of the clues is that they talk a lot about "liking" you very early on. They often repeat over and over that they would like a companion/partner, how good you would be for each other, how much you have in common, and persist in this vein, even after you have told them you only want friendship.

The air of desperation is almost palpable. None of this is immediate of course, but I don't think, short of death threats or scammers letters, that there is an "instant" put-off that is reliable in estimating character.

I think it is fairer to take a little time to assess people.wine

RE: How would u spend a MiLLioN dollaRs?

I wouldn't spend it. I'd invest it. The interest on a million is 3000-5000 a week. Easy to live off the interest, (with money left over), and not touch the capital at all. Buy a house a year with the interest I hadn't spend and rent them out. Ten years or so, it becomes more serious money.wine

RE: Can beauty be a curse?

Danny, all you need is a positive belief in yourself. You deserve to have someone beautiful in your life, and now you are going to live the life you deserve. Believe that, and all will be fine.hug

RE: Is it Hypocrisy

He's talking about the main pic not being of his face. CS do raids to take them down from time to time, so that if people have main pics at all, then they will all show up as face pics, for uniformity.wine

RE: Army officer's wife kills her 2 'mouthy' teens

Hi Trish. Sun is shining down fiercely here today. Hope it's nice there too.wave

RE: Army officer's wife kills her 2 'mouthy' teens

My best guess is, unseen damage from head trauma in the accident she had the month before......A small bleed out or swelling to the brain, would be enough to change her personality completely.

Having said that. Having raised 13 teenagers in all, I can easily see where they do make you homicidal quite often, and in the right circumstances it woudln't take much to just lose it.......

That could have been any of us.wine

RE: Culture shock

Middle age is just not kind to some people.

Seems you got lucky with your flu thingy, (not that flu is any picnic). Swine flu killed 29 people here over Christmas in a one week period. I have been holed up in the house for months. Steroid injections are no fun, that's for sure.

Since I am allergic to all antibiotics except penicillin and it is useless for most things, I really could die from any infection, no matter how small, so have to stay away from people.

This, and you folk, are all I have sometimes.
