My dad planted a small vegetable garden in his back yard (40 ft x 80 ft). He had someone deliver and dump a load of horse manure in it every autum. He'd then till it and forget it until the following spring.

That's nothing. Wait until it's revealed that U.S.EPA wants to establish a Men In Black task force to save earth's ozone layer, which protects almost all life on earth from the Sun's UV Radiation.

If aliens really want to put the hurts on the earth, they could do it easily by using chemicals to destroy our protective ozone layer which envelopes the earth in the lower portion of its stratosphere.

Instead of another sequel to "the day the earth stood still", the next sci-if thriller will be "the day the ozone layer was destroyed'

mcdonald employees strike for $15 minimum wage in Chicago today.


Doesn't matter that it's an entry level job. Doesn't matter that unions will get a good share of their new higher stepping-stone wages.

If McDonald's can provide a dollar-menu for its patrons it can provide a living wage for its employees.

This could be the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning for McDonald's and the Big Mac Value Meal!



Used to be these jobs were taken by people who sought career and advancement elsewhere.
