RE: progressive rock bands which do you like?

The local "26 Other Worlds" are just great.

Look them up on Face Book.

RE: EVER BREAK UP AND REGRET IT??

We were both 16.

I did not want to be tied down but wanted to play the field do I left her.

A few months later I saw her again as lovely as ever with her sun bleached hair and my heart stopped beating for a while as her date put his arm on her shoulder to show that she was his. I cursed myself for having been so stupid.

I asked her out again and she dropped the other guy in three minutes.

Eventually we got married and lived happily together for 35 years until she lost her battle with a rare heart condition of 34 years.

RE: What instantly causes attraction in women

Try talking to her eyes.... genuinely!

Ask general, not personal questions about herself and give her time to answer.

Forget talking about yourself for a change.

Be polite but try hard not to impress.

Let it flow.

RE: for jeepers

So happy that you are back in good spirits.... and I do not mean the alcoholic ones.

applause

RE: Education

I apologise for the above but I swear that I didn't touch anything.

However, my bit is this:

The more you study, the more you know
the more you know, the more you can forget
the more you can forget, the less you know.....

So why study? dunno

Hi Jan_is.

RE: After all is.............

1. The easy bit: Flush him down the toilette and forget about him.

2. The hard bit (a): Don't don on your armour and shut out one and all from approaching you.

3. The hard bit (b): Don't accept just anyone to prove to yourself that you are still desirable. Find out your true worth (and I am sure that it is a lot) before selling yourself cheap to the first sweet talking bum that comes along.

JMO and I wish you all the very best of everything.

I'm here too, (minus one pet dog, plus one grandson) even though I feel that the novelty of CS has worn off a bit. wave

When enough is enough

I have joined CS more than fourteen months ago.

It worked for me very quickly but I stayed on for the forums. Now I find that CS has become a little demon in me because I was (am?) to stupid to let go of certain issues.

So thank you all for the pleasure of virtually meeting you and corresponding with you.

I'm off for as long as I can stand it.

Translation of old Maltese proverb:

RE: Why do all religious people want to live in the dark ages?

Christians have a duty to go out and convert non-believers.

I take exception to being called a "non believer". I am a believer too, but I believe differently. I am being continuously being bombarded (bullied actually) to repent and convert, and I take exception to that too.

When my wife was alive but very sick, I was harassed to change my ways because god was punishing me by making my wife suffer. The good thing was that my wife, although not sharing my views saw deep in me and supported me and never blamed me for her ailments. very mad

RE: God is a bloke....

What was it that you wrote to someone else sometime ago, "Which part of not more than four lines did you not understand?"

You had me in stitches!rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

RE: God is a bloke....

Oh Smoky, you really are the best.... even though I did not really get it.

But it was long, so it must be good.

RE: Why do all religious people want to live in the dark ages?

Apologies for my earlier typo re your Pen Name.

I wrote, "Not" tolerate purposely. I am not a big fan of tolerance as it sometimes smacks of exasperation. Tolerance is rather like a defeatists attitude towards that, which really and truly one would not accept if so it could be. (Actually I am not a big fan of long sentences and I wonder how I managed the last one!)

But since we live in a community of more than one, then some type of give and take is necessary.

Thanks for the Teddybear too.

RE: Why do all religious people want to live in the dark ages?

To Leige and Kaybee:

I try very hard not to enter into polemics, especially religious ones.

As long as we keep respecting but not tolerating each other, then we will be ok. But the bone of contention is "Eternal Damnation" (read After Life). I base my beliefs on logic and not what is written here and there. If what is written makes sense, (as it sometimes does), then I try to practice it.

I still love you plenty.hug hug

RE: Why do all religious people want to live in the dark ages?

This is a hot topic and I must admit that I did not read all the posts.

I think that the key to all this is "After Life".

The vast majority do not believe in it but many will not take chances of it really existing. So they think that they believe in after life. Actually to believe something, one must have some kind of proof. Since none is forthcoming, then one has "Faith" which is different.

So in a nutshell, people are afraid to "Not Believe" really.

I am against all religions.

RE: Retired,Wanting to Relocate

If you are thinking of moving to France, then getting cracking to learn the lingo.

It is very easy really.

Try the following:

French Fries, French Knickers, French Letter, French Kiss, French Dressing, French Cut, French Windows and for the other Maltesers like me, Frenc Ta' L-Gharb.

Don't even bother to try to understand the last one.cheers

RE: God is a bloke....

I think that what you are saying is that you wish to understand women. Ouch!

God called St. Peter to him and said, "Things are not going well on Earth. Find me the best man in Malta and reward him now instead of waiting until he dies".

St. Peter did just that and appeared to a bloke who was really a living saint. “What can we do for you as a reward for being such a just and holy man?" asked St. Peter. After taking some time to think, the man replied, "I live in the most northern part of the island and work in the most southern part. Every day I spend hours to go to work and come back. Can I have a special road built just for me so that I do not get caught in traffic jams?"

"You are off your rocker,” said St. Peter. "Do you know how long it would take to conduct Impact Assessments, Environmental studies, Land expropriation and so on and so forth. Impossible, you must think of something else."

"Ok" said the man, "I have my wife, my mother in-law and three daughters, apart from three female hunting dogs. How about you making me understand females better, because they drive me crazy".

St. Peter reflected for a while and then replied, "Ok then, how do you want your road, single lane or double lane?"

RE: do u eat pork???

This is becoming too much.

Do you eat human (as in man) flesh? Or is that a sin too?
