You have a bike and: 1. You leave it in the basement. 2. You don't use it. 3. You don't maintain it (deflated tires) 4. You put on weight without thinking how the bike must feels about carrying extra weight (when you repent and eventually get back to the fold).
I even had to re-read your profile because you do not even mention that you're into biking. (Between you and me, does that ring a bell or two?)
I think that I would report you to the competent authorities, if I knew who they are and if they were competent.
Hooray! Some one actually replied to my posting. I was getting the feeling that I was invisible, Thank you kind Lady Annie (nice nickname, just like my mother's name.)
If it makes you feel good then go for it girl. Don't waste time, it is too precious. It is better to feel bad for having tried than to feel bad for having missed your chance.
"Lousy" is an understatement for me. Must add to all that you wrote that I have the builders demolishing part of the roof, water seeping in everywhere and all the debris turning into a filthy slush. Ugh! I don't know what makes me do some things.
The teacher asks the class, " Where does the light go when we switch it off?" Only one boy raised his hand to answer. "Yes" asks the teacher, "where does the light go when we switch it off?"
"In my mother's mouth" replies the boy. "No, can't be" says the teacher.
"It's true" argues the boy,"every night I hear my father tell my mother, switch off the light dear, and put it in your mouth."
Even though I hinted that I might react badly the second time round, I still agree with all that you wrote.
However, I am still human and subject to mistakes too. Therefore, I prefer to call it quits at the first sign of violence to avoid any chance of being violent in turn.
My Gal rode pillion for the first time and she did very well. We had lunch at Bianco's at St. Julian's with my daughter and her in-laws and then chilled out at home........Mmmmmm
Of all the stuff that has been written on this thread, (mine included) this is the piece that really sums it up. So if I may add something to Kattsrose, Love thy neighbour and let's get on with it. Well done Kattsrose.
Religion teaches that there are two reasons for praying: to ask for and to thank for. One must not ask for the impossible or for what is not befitting or merited for it will not be granted. By deduction, one prays for what is merited. Now surely God, who is above all things human, would not deny one what is merited. Therefore there is no need for prayer or for asking. Having received something that is merited, there is no reason to thank. Remember that God is above all things human. Therefore, thanking Him is neither here nor there. It is we humans who have a need for "please" and "thank you". If to a person is born a healthy baby and he ought to thank God, to him that is born a child with special needs, ought he to take it out of God? Again, to God, it is neither here nor there. We have a habit to think of God as a human being which he is not.
It is impossible to explain the absolute beginning of life. Even explaining "nothing" is quite impossible. So I opt to believe that the "very beginning" is so beyond us that I call it God, as it is easier in communication of arguments.
Everything else that comes after the creation is purely natural.
What gets my goat is people quoting the bible to substantiate their arguments: because the bible says this and the bible says that! As if I, a non-believer in Religions, do not love my neighbour because I do not believe in the Bible. I love and respect my neighbour plenty because I am an egoist and I want to be loved and respected back. By all means read the bible and adopt and make yours what makes sense. Surely not all of it is nonsense. But stop going round with the bible in your pocket to check if you can do this and that or not.
If you do not want it done to you, do not do it to others.
Think positive, don't loose heart. It is our destiny to take the rough with the smooth. You are NOT alone and we are all gunning for you. Please have someone close to keep you company. One big hug from all of us to all of you.
Before tonight, I thought I would have answered this one hands down. Right now, I haven't the slightest idea. I tried most of your suggestions but would she play ball? Not on your life! I had written on an other thread to beware from developing a tough skin. Tonight I was proved right unfortunately. Some people are just unapproachable.
Lovely day Lillym! Put on my brand new helmet and let it rip to Apple's Eye for coffee and "pastizzi". Then all the way to St. Thomas Bay for a late lunch. Will walk and work out later. It's too hot now. Eat your heart out, all you rain drenched people.
