I worry that the Bible/Koran and all major religious beliefs were written by people who invented their direct link to God to add credence to their ideas. I think all organised religions are esentially cults that have hierarchies that seek to control beliefs and actions. Believing something to be true isint the same as it being true. I truely wish for a life after death but I have no evidence to support that belief

As a christian I do believe in god. But I always though found it very hard to believe everything that is written in the bible. ( I think that is the historian in me).

I was brought up a Catholic and was a practicing one until I realised that my prayers always seemed to fall on deaf ears.

That is a load of hogwash. You are suggesting that Catholics wrote the bible, and that is the only reason people believe in a God?.......nonsense.
People living in the wastes of undiscovered places, middle of jungles etc., have beliefs in higher deities.....None of them ever heard of Rome or bibles etc......

Religion was created by man to help to conquer man's deep rooted and natural fear of dying and disappearing for eternity. This is one of the few questions that man cannot provide an answer to and because of this religion was born. It gave humans confidence to live their lives whether good or bad with the knowledge and faith that they will be going on to another life after they die. Religion is supposed to be about God but in actual fact is mainly the cause of war and hatred...don't think it has done mankind much good really. The only religion that I think is good is buddism as this preaches peace and love and is about living a good life on this planet before you die.

I often think like this and like you wonder about all these religions and their beliefs. Sometimes I think that man who is an intelligent being can’t or has a very hard time to accept the idea that there might be nothing after death.

True,religion was created by man and that has led to wars. So don't follow religion, follow Christianity which is God's word and God's word says don't murder, steal, lie, cheat, commit adultry etc. Why must everyone twist these around to make it appear like anything to do with God is horrible

we are like any other mammal on this planet except for one thing>intellegence ,our intellegence has made us into the people we are today creating ways of travel,homes,and other innovations but most of all we create alot of fiction make believe and we think too much and not use our animal instinkt like all the other mammals.god does not exist or ever did but i do believe that jesus did but he was the first david korash and yes i agree every religion is a cult to brain wash up for what ever reason.to me god is as real as santa or the tooth fairy.so to sum up man created god for his will to try and understand things that didnt need to be explained

God did create man. Reading the Bible with understanding will make plain this fact. There are things that most never understand, deep things, hard things, and they run true from the beginning to the end. I once read a scholars reason as to why Moses was not allowed into the promised land.....he was wrong.....it was simple and said plainly in the Bible....but because people did not understand due to lack of depth of understanding and seeking it. If man made God the Bible would have confusion from the beginning to end.....it was written over many time planes by uneducated people.......for it to all connect from start to end would be an impossible task for even scholars. Example: The Bible was KJV written from understanding and translated by some of the most brilliant men of that age...and they made a mess of some things.....but go to the scriptures and the mess is corrected with ease. These great minds of men translating the scriptures were influenced by Greek thinking......THERE WAS NEVER A UNICORN...but they put it in the Bible due to influence.......going to the scriptures the animal is a wild bull or oxen.....therefore clearing up the context of that group of scriptures. Did God make man....yes! The evidence is plain to those who find it by the solid thoughts,ideas, messages,prophecy of the Bible when studied to the point of understand GOD'S WORDS! and freeing one's mind of man's foolishness of mind.
