Just been a week and a half off work. What did I do?
Sleep for first three days, coughed, sneezed, blew my nose constantly, took my medicines, drank a lot of hot black currant cordial, spent a lot of time on CS, got fed up being sick. Today I woke up for the first time feeling no longer crap so I'm slowly getting back to normal.
My sympathies. Focus on thinking that you did get a lot said anyway. Not all of us are granted to say goodbyes but that is something you can't do anything about as we never know when... Ask your friends if you are getting on their nerves and don't jump into guilty conclusions. Maybe they feel great being able to support you by listening, but just not knowing what to say. One breath at a time, one day at a time. You are doing great.
It's such a pity that many people still haven't realized that TALKING about the problems, worries, loss, anything, is the key to a lot of relief in life. Keeping up appearances of any kind is the biggest sin we do towards ourselves and it only creates more pressure.
This thread has me puzzled. Well laughing too, as usual SDB is on spot!
But is it somehow considered bad that he's got Funygirl's number in his phone? I mean, remembering that he actually spent the night in her house...I myself would be more worried about having had a stranger in the house, not that he's got my number.
They love to learn new things, keeps the mind occupied.
Mine was 4 when she moved to Ireland, she since then learned to sit and lay down in Irish and sneeze in English even though I don't have much time to train her. That adds her languages to total four Especially the sneeze trick is a huge favourite of everybody, but it works only with a treat. I should actually get somebody to film it and post it to YouTube!
Well good for you Uno, you obviously have the time, energy and the money for it.
I assume you mean pubs or clubs when you talk about socialising earlier in the thread - sorry I don't know how to double quote. There are people who don't like spending time in pubs and never go even close the clubs. Going on my own to a pub full of strangers is not my favourite way to pass time, which I don't have so much of either as I am working. I am talkative but I need to hear what the other person is saying if I want to be able to have a discussion. If the pub is noisy, that is barely possible - and I am also very weary of my hearing so I try to avoid loud places where you have to scream. Which explains why I don't even go close the clubs. I do my dancing in Céilíes!
I get the impression you jump to conclusion only based on the forum users? There is a big mass of ordinary nice people out there who never even tip a toe in the forum sea. I have had the pleasure of getting to know some of them, personally I mean, not only by mailing and also got a few new friends. Based on my experience I would say there are a lot of people looking for company and new friends - like me - or seriously looking for a relationship - which I wouldn't say no to either, if I met The Right One. Why would they give up quickly? Us "older generation" don't have the concentracion span of a squirrel, so we can bid our time.
I see it very visible under this thread this morning. Maybe you should follow the advice EnglishBlack is so kindly giving everybody and go to Specsavers? Or maybe you just were up too late? Or too early...
Maybe she is just curious about you, after all obviously her child spends time with you? Maybe your bf should arrange you all to meet to ease her mind up.
I'm fine with my ex but not too keen listening to the same old whine I have listened to year after year, but I get on like house on fire with his new woman, she is gas!
We hear each other's news through the kids and usually meet up every summer to have a good chat and giggle.
I understand some of your comments above, some I don't Never mind, I don't have a telly. Now I have been killing time watching this years's X Factor auditions on Youtube, well at least what I have been able to find. What puzzles me is don't people REALLY know that they can't sing a note??? Doesn't anybody tell them they are really crap? Or do they enjoy being humiliated in public?? Takes all kind... I'm sure you all understand which "performances" I mean. I have been cringing - and laughing.
*hangs on to Alpha's legs crying Don't go, don't go!*
I don't have you on FB
Actually, I'm not even on FB! And not really what you could call a regular either - except when I'm on sickleave and have too sore eyes to read books
I guess I'm irregularly regular occasional lurker, if that makes sense?
Thanks for your flying visit anyway, I'm glad things are going great for you two! Gives some hope for the rest of us too, right?
The forum has it's ups and downs. A lot of the nice people are just lurking in the corners waiting for things to improve and the dust to settle, old friends to make reappearances and new friends arrive. It's like it's always been and will always be. The place is what we posters make it.
I have the dog, and had one or a few ever since I finished studying. God help anybody trying to break in or mess with me or her, I have seen her in action!
And off that link went to a good friend of mine from Wales, who first introduced me to rugby and who definitely knows the rules. Somehow I suspect he will enjoy that anyway
RE: EARS - The Classics
I absolutely ADORE Libera!
And WOOHOO I seem to be able to post videos now!
