RE: do some feelings never die

If you're hell bent on holding on to the horrors, then they will never fade - it's entirely in your hands to come to terms with it as difficult as that is, and then deal with it - but in the end it's your choice. If nothing else, you owe it to your daughter to deal with it and not let her grow up under a cloud, which she had no part in.

If you don't take control, you will be allowing the abuser to keep control in the most heinous way possible - mentally.

RE: do some feelings never die

They barely exist day to day because they are allowing themselves to, rather than dealing with it or having it dealt with. There's an old saying which is very true "Smile, and the world smiles with you - Cry, and you cry alone", and there is no joy in that.

RE: do some feelings never die

Memories and feelings are two separate things. Feelings as in 'emotional feelings' either happy or sad can fade over time, that's how we deal with a 'traumatic experience', but the memories last without the emotional attachment.comfort

RE: Multiculturalism has 'failed

It sounds like history is about to repeat itself. I agree people should try to learn the language of the host country if they intend spending their lives there, but the way Merkel is stating the case, makes one a little nervous, particularly since these people were allowed into the country without any pre-condition or pre-requisite to learn the language within a given time - what's her solution - mass deportation or the re-opening of the Gas Chambers?

RE: Setting up company

It seems you've got your first lesson in starting a business - keep quiet about it until you source the right professional advice, and there's lots out there. There is absolutely nothing wrong in seeking advice through any medium. One small gem of an idea, can create an avalanche.

If you have access to the companies accounts in which you are working, it would seem fairly obvious that you should have some idea on costings. That doesn't make you an expert in starting a business, but they are an indication of what's involved.

The first thing you need to do is make out a business plan.
What market are you appealing to:
What age profile:
What's the size of the market:
What REALISTIC share of the market could you see yourself gaining:
How do you propose targeting that market:
How much will it cost to set up the business:
How much will it cost to run the business i.e. capital expenditure, overheads, insurance, (both Public Liability, Employers Liability and Traders Insurance):
How much is the Travel Agents Insurance Bond:
How much have you got to invest in it: (and on that note, it's like the Stock Market - unless you can afford to put the cash on the table and set fire to it, and not let it hurt - then don't do it!).
Should you set up a Limited Liability Company? (most likely if you want to get the Travel Agents Insurance Bond)
How are you going to live while building the business:
What Bank facilities can you get - especially overdraft and some working capital:
What Security can you offer the Bank on any money borrowed?

It may seem ridiculous, but have you even considered what the next 4 years are going to be like with the mess the country is in? Foreign travel especially for Sports may well dry up.

Profit is not about the difference between 'what you buy and what you sell for' - that's the end result. Profit is about sheer hard work, determination, and working efficiently (which is a foreign word in this country). Success is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.

You're thinking of entering a High Risk and High Financed industry, where many with far more experience than you have, gone into liquidation. I'm not suggesting you forget it entirely, but I am strongly recommending that you RESEARCH, RESEARCH and RESEARCH the market - and when you have that done, RESEARCH it AGAIN.

Start small, work hard, and the best of luck. At least you weren't asking how to scam the Social Welfare system.

PS. When you're established, that advice will cost you a Ticket to the FA Cup Final and all the 6 Nations Championship Matches. ....... welcome to the cruel world of commerce where there ain't no such thing as a Free Lunch.cheers

RE: WHY IS CAB NOT RIPPING FAS AND THE HSE APART?

Then let's take a leaf out of the US Government numbers, rather than trying to find solace or justification, which Politicians are constantly doing by constantly referring to other EU countries. Why not use the US ratio rather than the EU for elected representatives?

As is frequently seen on TV, Politicians always try to 'justify' whatever it is they are being challenged on by looking at other EU Countries "Ohhh we're not as bad as Greece!" ..... so what!! we're still bloody well broke!

RE: WHY IS CAB NOT RIPPING FAS AND THE HSE APART?

What does it matter what other countries have regarding representation? Why is it that we always have to 'look' to see what other countries do? Are we lacking THAT MUCH intelligence and ingenuity that we have to follow other countries? On that basis, if the entire House of Commons decided to jump into the Thames, then our Politicians should jump into the Liffey?

So what if they have 659 for 50million? (and that's short 12 million anyway) The US Congress (Government) has 441 for a population of 350million - that's 1 Politician for every 805,000 people. On that basis our Government should only consist of 5 Politicians for 4million. So where is the 'logic' in looking at what other countries have?

This is OUR Country, not Germany's or Britain's, but OURS ALONE. We decide what's good for us and works for us, and not based on what others have, or are doing.

RE: WHY IS CAB NOT RIPPING FAS AND THE HSE APART?

The Maximum we need is 2 per county +1 (Co. Cork being the largest county) that's a total of 27 to deal exclusively with LEGISLATION. City and County Councilors are there for the pothole politics.

RE: WHY IS CAB NOT RIPPING FAS AND THE HSE APART?

Whatever about the merits of what you're saying, and I don't necessarily agree with them - the point is, No one complained during the 'bubble time'; but now it's the 'blame-game' and now everyone suddenly has all the answers. Where the hell were these geniuses during the 'Bubble time'? The blame lies in our own hands - it is OUR responsibility and WE Must accept that. WE accepted everything the Government gave us, and we sought even more than they were giving at the time. Now suddenly it's ALL the Government's fault ........ give me a break!!frustrated

RE: WHY IS CAB NOT RIPPING FAS AND THE HSE APART?

Then it's high time they STARTED to THINK - never mind rationally ....... or stay in the mire.

RE: WHY IS CAB NOT RIPPING FAS AND THE HSE APART?

They can have the other 156 bloody idiots to represent them.frustrated

RE: WHY IS CAB NOT RIPPING FAS AND THE HSE APART?

One thing I can't fathom is, people are rightly shouting "we have too many politicians for the size of the country" ..... and then they scream at the Government because they haven't called the by-elections. WHY do we need a by-election? We have still have more than enough wasters in the Dáil without adding more!! confused frustrated doh

RE: WHY IS CAB NOT RIPPING FAS AND THE HSE APART?

What we need is a Dictator, because it's quite clear that the people are incapable of electing intelligent politicians, or a decent Government. As long as FF were doing a good job during the 'Bubble time' like; lowering taxes, increasing children's allowances, not increasing the tax on alcohol, putting in place the SSIA scam, wages and salaries reaching ridiculous and unsustainable heights - no one was complaining about un-vouched TD's expenses then. Our silence then - while we were creaming it off - ignoring the un-vouched expenses - the 3 government jets - the exorbitant TD's and Ministers Salaries, while they played with the Developers and Bankers, is the cost we have to pay today.

Putting in FG and or Lab is not going to make the problems go away. What might help, is rather than spend our justified anger on what has happened, is perhaps to turn it into more positive thinking and actions. We need, individually and collectively, to reinvent ourselves, and not depend on the Government or others to do it for us, and we need to get REAL about wages and salaries.

RE: Recent terror alerts in Europe. WTF???

I'm truly sorry you lost two Army colleagues, and I'm proud, as would any Irish person be, that you went to help others and tended to their needs. The Priest who ran into the tower, was my cousin, and a close friend and her daughter died on the plane, which crashed into the Pentagon .... and some American's think they were the only ones affected by 9/11 - what sad ignorance.

ár déis dé go raibh ahánim dilis.sad flower

RE: Recent terror alerts in Europe. WTF???

It certainly DOES give me and my country authority in this matter, because it was America, which was responsible for 300 innocent Irish people dying, among other nationals. It was the arrogance and crass stupidity, of people who 'think' they can dictate to others, which brought it about - but you're clearly too dumb to see it.very mad

RE: Recent terror alerts in Europe. WTF???

It's not my opinion, it was the opinion and pleas of an entire world NOT to invade because there was nothing to INVADE for. Whatever you do, don't abandon your ignorance and arrogance - it might give 'america' a good name.

RE: Recent terror alerts in Europe. WTF???

America had NO RIGHT whatsoever, but they presumed in their arrogant state that they had. International Law was against you, which is WHY it was an INVASION (an act of Terrorism) - not a War

RE: Recent terror alerts in Europe. WTF???

Typical arrogant BS!!frustrated YOU think Americans were the ONLY ones to die in the Twin Towers? That really shows your complete ignorance ......... and the 'dumba** icon' you were looking for appears to be stuck in your profile!frustrated frustrated frustrated

RE: Recent terror alerts in Europe. WTF???

America was clearly TOLD NOT to invade Iraq by the US appointed head of the UN - the group the US despises so much when they don't jump to America's demands. No one called for the US to invade Afghanistan. It would be nice for once if America accepted responsibility for its own stupidity, rather than always trying to play the 'innocent' card. It's getting wayyy too boring and repetitive.frustrated frustrated

RE: I got rear-ended

Pity you didn't learn how to READ before you learned how to Defraud. I clearly said:

Trealach01: I think you said earlier, that you already have a back/neck injury? That would not necessarily impede a legitimate claim as the 'new accident' could well have aggravated a previous injury.

RE: psychiatric hospital

Have you tried the Dáil? .........there's 156 of them to choose from.laugh

RE: I got rear-ended

I think you said earlier, that you already have a back/neck injury? That would not necessarily impede a legitimate claim as the 'new accident' could well have aggravated a previous injury. See your doctor, get tested and find out what the prognosis is, if there is one to be made. That at least will ease your mind. Injuries may not have an affect now, but they could in years to come. Once that is done, then is the time to decide whether a legitimate claim should be made. In any case, you would be entitled to have your medical bills covered by the insurance company without making a 'personal injury' claim.

So far as damage to the car is concerned, you are entitled to get your own assessment done and get it repaired where ever YOU choose. If the car is off the road for a short period, you would be entitled to have the hire of a replacement car for One Week.

Since you were hit from behind, there is absolutely NO obligation on you to report the accident to your Insurance company. They are NOT involved in any aspect of the claim, UNLESS the other driver is trying to apportion blame, and based on what you have said, that doesn't seem to be the case.

I admire your honesty and integrity in not trying to make a Fraudulent claim. Thank You, and I wish you health and happiness.

Regrettably, it's fraudsters like you, which cause the rest of us to pay higher premiums. Obviously Fraud is not new you, to make a statement like that, which is totally false anyway. However, you may well have given the men on this site a very good reason to stay the hell away from you .... unless they want to take the risk of being defrauded.very mad very mad
