How many times have we heard that Bin Laden was the Mastermind of 9/11? You left out this bit ... "Two high-ranking al Qaeda operatives, alleged 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (who was waterboarded repeatedly) and Abu Faraj al-Libbi (who was not), were questioned about the courier, ......"

Osama Bin Laden
After his death, Osama bin Laden went to heaven.

There he was greeted by George Washington, who proceeded to slap him across the face and yell at him, "How dare you try to destroy the nation I helped conceive!"

Patrick Henry approached and punched Osama in the nose and shouted, "You wanted to end our liberties but you failed."

James Madison entered, kicked Osama and said, "This is why I allowed our government to provide for the common defence!"

Thomas Jefferson came in and proceeded to beat Osama many times with a long cane and said, "It was evil men like you that provided me the inspiration to pen the Declaration of Independence!"

These beatings and thrashings continued as John Rudolph, James Monroe and 66 other early Americans came in and unleashed their anger on the Muslim terrorist leader.

As Osama lay bleeding and writhing in unbearable pain, an Angel appeared.

Bin Laden wept in pain and said to the Angel, "This is not what you promised me."

Neither of those links prove Bin Laden is dead. The first link states "Pakistani officials furious over U.S. operation, demonstrators take to streets." They are "furious over US operation"

The second link (report) merely states: "Altaf Hussain, chief of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), has called on rulers to take the nation into confidence regarding facts behind the killing of Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in a US raid in Abbottabad. He questioned the constant silence of the security apparatus of the country and ambiguous statements of the government about the operation."

Lack of "Facts" and "ambiguity" does not even suggest or support the possibility of Bin Laden having been killed.

They would look as stupid as they did when they claimed Sadam Hussein had Weapons of Mass Destruction. The have cried 'wolf' once too often to be believed without credible proof. IF they photographed his body, then presumably they also taped or photographed his burial at sea - IF he was buried at sea. No Body = No Proof.

Personally, I abhor the destruction of natural timber. I could never understand the need to paint over the natural grain. Paint will ultimately deteriorate and needs re-painting, it also eventually clogs the moulding on the door/skirting-board. If the doors are a natural red-deal or pine, varnishing will emphasise the grain, or alternatively a Ronseal stain/varnish such as 'dark oak' or 'light oak' will contrast nicely with the floor and walls.

What I have seen done, and it looks very effective, is to stain the door and paint the panels the same colour as the walls in a 'satin' paint - not gloss.

What O'Bama didn't reckon on was traitors in his own party working against him - everything he tried to do they said NO - sounds like the Orangemen in Northern Ireland, that's the only word they once knew, but WHEN are Americans going go wake up to the Fact that THEIR Vote doesn't count one bit. The Electoral College will decide WHO is going to be President - so save the high blood pressure and wait for their decision. So much for the great democracy!!

I couldn't agree with you more I think it's more than safe to say that the tragic death of the Policeman was no more than a callous act of murder from within his own community. I wish the media would stop 'romanticising' it as an 'act of a dissident group of the IRA' - this had nothing to do with the IRA. It was simply the act of heartless and brainless criminals.

Our world as we know it is full of hatred and until we all learn that we ARE different for whatever reason,and learn acceptance of each other's way of life,we will never know World peace. A sad state of affairs to be sure.

It's a pity the US doesn't adopt that attitude.

It seems you've been ripped off. If you paid for the pre-NCT test and had work done on the car, then if the car failed the test it is normally their responsibility to put things right. I would stand my ground about having to pay twice, but it could become very messy if you have to engage an independent assessor, and then the possibility of getting a solicitor etc. See if you can get a qualified independent mechanical assessor, and if his/her fee is reasonable and they're prepared to negotiate for you it might be worth going that route. IF the assessor can stand over his report, then I'd pay the €360 and tell them to sue you for the balance. I'm surprised they gave you back the car before paying the full amount. If you're a member of the AA it might be worth contacting them too before you do anything.

In principle I agree with you, but Solar is restricted to "direct sunlight" and is useless if the sky is overcast. The Photovoltaic system is similar to Solar but generates electricity from the Uv rays, therefore direct sunlight isn't necessary - and Ireland is not renowned for sunshine.

I have Photovoltaic tiles on my roof and they generate excess electricity for my needs. As a result, I can run my house and my neighbours house with free electricity and heating 24/7. What little excess is left is fed into the national grid, for which I receive a small payment each quarter.

Wind energy has it's limitations too, but is a useful source - although the wind-turbines do spoil the horizon in many cases. The main problem with wind energy is it's source - the wind force - is unreliable and inconsistent, for example on those lovely mild balmy summer days.

The only consistent source of energy is "Sea energy", which is constant, consistent, unlimited and free - with the exception of the cost of the turbines - but capital cost applies to the other sources too. At least those turbines can be placed in huge numbers, over a period of time, in the sea without causing pollution or interference with shipping lanes, and the electricity can be fed through the existing electricity supply grids.

Burning the Union Jack is a futile exercise, and insulting the people of England, Scotland and Wales, since it is those three countries which make up the Union Jack. If one want's to insult the Royalty by burning a flag, then it would have to be the Royal Pendant - not the Union Jack
