Yes why should any countries tax payers fund a country with Sharia law! I suspect a balance of power in the region has more to do with things than anything else.
The west 500 years was in the same state of evolution as the middle/east is now. We in the west learned that religion and politics dont mix. I for one dont want to live in the dark ages of a backward Islamic regime.
Most peoples IMO that live under Sharia law dont want to but are forced to.
Afganistan is a complex situation, a goverment so corrupt, Taliban and Al qaeda all fighting for power with none of them fit to govern. Afganistan is the 3rd poorest country in the world and the people need help, they are sat on $1 trillion in minerals but have no hope of a competant goverment and religious countries sniffing around wanting to inforce Sharia law or some other barbarrak will of their own.
The west shouldnt have to suffer in the time that it takes the Islamic people to realise life is better without Sharia law!

Yes but Iran being a single country isolated is one thing, 55 countries together are not isolated.
55 Sharia goverments all supporting each other with the gun and suppressing the people with threats of death. With no outside influence the people are trapped before the barrel of a gun and have nobody to turn to.
I wonder if aid is better as it allows a presence?
