RE: opinionated

There are far too many people who when asking you for your opinion, don't really want your opinion at all, they just want you to repeat their opinion back to them, they can't deal with the notion that someone else could possibly have a different point of view.
Such people don't listen too anyone else, and woe betide if you offer a different opinion, then they just get abusive and nasty.
It is probably down to a huge and very fragile ego.

RE: If you are going to Vote please watch this no matter what way you are voting!

It seems that what we have been sent in the post are the articles required to set up the Fiscal Stability Fund (1 - 16), not the articles that cover the actually running of the fund, the full text goes all the way up to article 47.

It makes quite disturbing reading, no scrutiny, no way of challenging, no way to get access to any documentation and the only get out clause I can possibly see is if a country ditches the EUR, in which case they don't get a cent back from the ESM.

As for believing any politician in any politically party, screw that, if I were standing in the middle of a field and a politician told me the grass was green, I would still look down to make sure!!

RE: Fake / Real /or just a coincidence???

Do people really fall for that? They might as well put "THIS IS A SCAM," as the header.

RE: Local or Global?

Someone I know not so long ago needed to get a new exhaust for his car, the price here in Ireland was around 700 Euro, that is just for the exhaust and does not include it being fitted, so he went online and bought the same exhaust from the UK for 450 Euro including shipping.

If Irish business bring down their prices for goods and services there would be no need to look abroad for anything. If I don't need something there and then, I will go online for the best deals I can get, the rip-off republic is still alive and kicking, and I won't be emotionally blackmailed into buying local, just because it is local.

RE: Referendum; Damed if we do and damed if we don't!

I have come to realise that for all the talk the Irish do about politics, for all the moaning and groaning they do about any issue that comes to the fore, in the end MOST will do exactly what they are told when some big bad poliltian waves his finger at them, and scolds them like a bold child.

RE: Referendum; Damed if we do and damed if we don't!

The citizens belittle themselves when they vote in favour of it the second the around.

RE: Referendum; Damed if we do and damed if we don't!

I have never had much confidence any anything they EVER said.
They are cheap sales men in expensive suits, selling ideals they know little about, to a populous they know even less about.

RE: Referendum; Damed if we do and damed if we don't!

Now this one ye will love (not) I have just been on the Referendum Commissions website to see if I could get a downloaded version of the treaty.
If you click on the link to the 2012 treaty, the website is still under construction.....FFS.

RE: Referendum; Damed if we do and damed if we don't!

It doesn't matter how you vote, the French and Germans can't get the damn thing past their own Parliaments at the moment. Even if every other EUR zone country passed the treaty it won't matter. Without France and Germany the treaty is dead as they are the only ones who can pay for the new bailout fund.

RE: KJV Holy Bibles are the most published, read and loved books of all time !

I thought he was going to copy out the entire bible there for a minute.

RE: MEN, which makeup look do you prefer on women?

The natural or light touch look is always best. Makeup is meant to extenuate a woman's features, but unfortunately with some women, the makeup becomes the feature.

RE: im on this site over a week now and im getting boared ,,anyone wanna go on a date

If you think that this place, or any other dating site, is an instant way to get a date, you are going to be greatly disappointed.

RE: What's Your Favorite Food ??

T bone steak, medium rare, with proper thick cut chips.

RE: Opinions

I can't be arsed reading it, especially as by this time next week, someone will be taking issue with someone else, about opinion that somebody, somewhere had on a subject, that no-one will give a damn about the week after.

RE: Opinions

No I wasn't, it was a general comment about people, especially as I really haven't the inclination to read back through 13 pages of posts on one thread to see who was getting all hot under the collar.

RE: Opinions

What made you think I was actually talking about you?
Ever try conversing instead of confronting?

RE: Opinions

There are plenty of people who when asking you for your opinion, don't really want your opinion at all, they just want you to repeat their opinion back to them.

RE: Opinions

Opinions are like Arseholes, everybody has got one, and they all stink.
(in my humble opinion, that is.)

RE: Do the Shuffle!

1. Lenny Kravitz - What Goes Around Comes Around
2. Radiohead - Street Spirit (Fade Out)
3. U2 - ONE
4. David Bowie - Sorrow
5. AC/DC - She's got balls

RE: Calling Time on James Bond?......

The only time Bond will die is when its takings fall below its production costs, until then you can expect plenty more Bond films and a good few more actors in the role.

As for all the other Bond imitation films, I somehow doubt there will be a Mission impossible or Bourne 23.

So Mr Bond, bring on the guns, gadgets and girls until someone does it better.

RE: alcohol sponsorship

Do any of you actually think any company would sponsor anything if it wasn't in their own interest to do so, it is a form of advertising that just happens to benefit others as well as the said company, and is probably cheaper than taking out ads on telly, newspapers and in other forms of mass media.
Companies like Vodafone, O2, Coke, Pepsi and any other company wanting to push its brand will take over the sponsorships.

RE: alcohol sponsorship

Tobacco manufactures use to sponsor loads of sports and events, but the sports and events all seemed to survived the bans on tobacco sponsorship, I am fairly sure that these sports and events will survive any ban on alcohol sponsorship.

RE: household charge article

Just like the rest of them in the Dáil then. laugh

RE: So The Aul Household Charge. Why Are You Not paying it

And did you also happen to check what VAT you were paying as well?? No where near 23% I bet. professor

RE: So The Aul Household Charge. Why Are You Not paying it

You are probably right, they will get it out of us some way or another, but that doesn't mean we should be meekly and mildly led by the nose to the economic slaughter house, now at least the powers that be (Germany, France, the IMF and ECB) know that there is still some fight left in the Irish people.

RE: would you

Is this guy already trying to control your life? Already making unreasonable demands? I think he has a flaming cheek asking, it might be different if you were in a long term relationship, or engaged, but after just one date?!?!?!

You might want to consider NOT having a second date.

RE: So The Aul Household Charge. Why Are You Not paying it

The entire thing has been a farce from the start.

The other reason you have to go on line and register yourself is because that much property changed hands over the last 15-20 years that they simply haven't a clue who owns what, and it would cost them a fortune to to find out, so they have gotten the sheeple sheep to do the dirty work for them.

If you have registered, then you are now on a database for the implantation of other taxes, such as water and septic tank charges.

As for the bully boy tactics from HULK HOGAN, LEO VARUKA and other such "fine upstanding," so called leaders, FF tried that one on, and look where they are now!

RE: Tea/coffee

I like my coffee like my women..... Black and Bitter!!
laugh

RE: We all knew Bertie was a crook. Now it's been proved!

Unfortunately they haven't actually proven he received any corrupt payments at all, just that his evidence was untruthful.

And now any evidence will be given to the DPP, who will now have to have a separate investigation before any charges can be brought. You are looking at probably another 3-5 years before any of them end up in front of the criminal courts. And even if there is a trial, I wouldn't hold your breathe on any of them being found guilty, let alone serving any time.
