God no, not on a chick but on a duck yes. Daddy use to bring us kids home chicks at Easter (all different colors, they were)and they were as soft as cotton balls.I can't imagine wanting to cradle a muscular chick. But a duck now that's another 'tail' ( tale rather )-a goose of a different color if you 'swish' (I mean wish) You see ducks require strong firm muscles. That's how they get 'down'off the drakes
