Serving others should not be looked down upon, nor viewed as a negative. Mother Theresa lived her life as a subservient. This was her strength, her gift. She came to this awareness at an early age. She was one of the strongest, resourceful, courageous, go-getter that this world has ever seen.
We all have our gifts. Some our born to lead, others to serve, some possess both strengths. They are all absolute strengths, not a character trait to be looked down upon and scoffed.
Looking at this from another angle, some of the "subservient" people that I know are strong, courageous, independent, successful, people. Their choices may not fit into society's norms. They choose to follow their heart and not fall into step with the masses.
