If someone is intent on harming you, almost nothing you do can prevent that.
You could meet in a neutral location, but what is stopping them from following you to your home?

Just using your best judgment and trusting in your instincts, is usually a safe bet.
Not all people are"out to get you". If you live your life as they are, then it will be a lonely one and why are you here?
the people I have met through internet dating sites have all been nice people. All are kind and treat others with respect.
I "CHOOSE" to meet different ones, where ever. If it is not right, just move on....(JMO)

I agree with Venus.....After reading all of the comments, it seems more like, you want a hand out on the guise of "help me with ideas"..you were given plenty...

Day Labor(yes, there are lots of agencies that do this
Go to a different church
Earn and save the money, even if it takes you months...$1.00 or so at a time adds up.....
Sell something......
Babysit for neighbors when you aren't doing it where you live...

Hitch hike...it may be illegal, but There are radio stations and bulletin boards where you can post your need for a ride...

You ask for immediate help, but "IF" you are going to do this yourself, then do it already...CS Forums are not the place for it...It makes you look like a scammer...

I think that is more like how they were raised....it their parents were not raised in a close, loving environment, they will have difficulty being that way with their own children....
It's just a shame that some parents can be cold and indifferent to their own children(or just not knowing how to interact with)...
Children take that very personally. JMO

I have been moving around most of my life and as yet have found a place I would like to settle

My son moved out when he turned 18...that wasn't so tough, even though we were very close..He still called MOM is he needed anything or came over to raid my cupboards for food once a month...

BUT...
My youngest(daughter)...
When she moved out, it felt like death...I didn't deal well at all..what helped me was that she got married to a wonderful man(8years her senior) and she is happy...
Both of them are living their dreams and that is all I ever wanted for them.
I ended up with nothing left where I lived, so I started moving around again....It has been 11 years since she married and while I wasn't alone during that time, I was without them....We still have a great relationship...it's just different(adult).

So, now I say..."My children grew up and I ran away from home" That is true because I have lived in Tennessee twice since then....

My best advice is throw yourself into things you like to do. Get yourself out of the house and do things you would have never thought of before...Make new friends, travel and most of all...enjoy life. You did your job and now it is "YOU TIME"....
Your child will always need you, just in different ways now...
