At Rest

In a wooded box your ashes lay,
and gets polished every day,
The time has flown by,
it’s a year and half gone,
but now its time for us all to move on.

I knew this day would come,
I know what has to be done
To do what I think bests to lay you to rest,

I thought long and hard,
not wanting to break our children’s hearts,
where to scatter your ashes,
as you jokingly said,
Scatter them over the flower bed,

Thinking what the future holds,
where the family move from the family home,
and there you would be left,
all alone.

So the best place to be,
And the family agree,
For you to be scattered,
Along with baby Paul’s ashes.

Twelve month since you've gone

It's twelve months to the day,
since you went away.

still hurts inside,
as we remember that day you died.

your sadly missed,
all that's left is the emptiness.

your in our thoughts everyday,
and the pain i'm sure will,
slowly fading away.

R,I,P Paul died on the 14th July 2010

The love of my life

The love of my life

I never forget the day we first met,
You stood so tall, long hair and all,
Was not sure you were a girl or boy.

I glanced at you once, and thought no chance,
But as the night went on, I know you were the one,

We where teenage lovers, when we went out with one and other,
The love I had for you, I did not want no other,

Three days a week we would see one another,
As work stopped us from being together,
I would sit by the phone every night,
Just for it to ring an we would chat till morning light,

Years went by, our hearts grow stronger,
Carrying our first born, you nearly lost us all,
But with gods caring hand, helped us survive,

With one lovely child it soon became five,
We lost one on the way, which left us with four,
As god wanted baby Paul,

As time went on we raised our kids,
Then came all our grandkids, which we both cherished,

What went wrong along the way, our love?
For each other started dyeing day by day.
I just felt you push me away

Then the day came, struck by an illness,
That dreaded C word that everyone hated,
The time came to say good bye,
But our love for you will never die

An Angel

An Angel

May the angel’s watches us all to-night,
And keep us safe, till morning light,

The days are long,
An the nights are longer,

But as time goes by,
We will all become stronger,

I speak the truth, on how I feel,
And I know, in time this will heal,

You made me smile, you make me laugh.
But now, that’s all within the past,

I cannot break through,
The wall that surrounds me,
Feel so trapped, and o so lonely,

I’m trapped in a world,
An cannot break free,

Because of my family,
They really need me.

The time will come,
When their strong enough,

I will step aside,
And just be their guide

I hope an angel is watching me,
To give me courage and the strength,
To help me break free.

A WEDDING BLESSING

Words cannot say,
On how we felt that day

The months are passing by,
Since we said our goodbyes

You went so sudden,
Two days before our daughter’s weddin'

The last words you said,
Was the wedding to go ahead

With this sudden take,
I had to take your place

As I walked our daughter down the aisle,
We held our heads up high

And hide our grief behind a smile
Knowing I had to put you on stand by

This was a lovely day;
But also, sad in a way

If I could turn back time,
Just for a little while;
For you to walk our daughter
Down that aisle

You are really missed.
What would we give,
For that last goodbye kiss...

So no words can say what we felt on that day.
