The End

The End
I wept when our lives were forced to change
I wept when your life drove in yours
And mine took my lane,
I cried when they told me,
I’ll never see your smile again,
I cried when I knew I would never hold the hand,
Of my best friend
I died when I knew your heart,
Would never beat with mine
I died when the life I cared so much for,
Was no longer apart of my time
Until I see you again
I hold you in my heart
My lover, my life, my wife,
My friend,

And

I will weep, cry and die…
My entire life,
Until they,
God,
Tells me,
Rickey,
This
Is,
The End

About this poem:
While serving in the military, I was stationed in Atsugi, Japan. I met someone I thought would be with me for the rest of my life. She got sick and would fall to cancer. She was my heart.

life

I ask myself, what is life really about? It’s not about what you have or what you want. Not about who sees you with or who don’t. because you can never have enough if you live your life that way, it’s about who you spend it with that makes the quality of how you live and love your life. All about the love that’s in their heart and yours that stays.

Happy

What is happiness really?
Hands covering your body ever so gently,
Opening a card with passion filled words from a lover
The smiles you share deeply with one another,
Or
The dance of tongues leading to forbidden sins
How they make you laugh and play like you were both still teens,
Filling that place in your heart that had been left bare and empty,
Opening your eyes to see what they see,
Maybe
Being taken back to a beautiful place,
To retrace steps that sands of time tried to replace,
To reopen a door, locked, never to let another enter,
Accepting the feeling of your heart as it whimpers,
Knocking off all the books of your inner shelf,
Replacing them, to look into ones self expectance of self.
