Dare

Dare to sing in cathedral hall
Dare to dream when nightmare call
Dare to laugh when hearts do sigh
Dare to cry as love goes by.

Dare to dance in daylight dawning
Dare defy thy heart's due warning
Dare to touch an angel's wing
Dare to hear a siren sing.

Dare, when caution ere derides
Dare and let the heart decides
Dare to love; however small
Dare to give thy very all.

Morning love

Soft steals the morning mist that hides the glimmering dawn
Whispers quiet greetings to those forlorn
That beckon in silence upon the dappled lawn
Of those lost within that fragrant morn...........

Seek ye not, in morning dawning
Hearts a burning, stirring, turning.
There is beauty heaving, weaving,
Nature and her maids adorning.

Come. Sing, for thy knows the songs of yore
The ancient melodies of joy and mellow song
That echo from a distant time
And make one think in ancient rhyme..

Hearken to that learned sage locked within a literal cage
Of thoughts. Of slendour and desire that inflamed the inner fire
Come, come upon the stage of dreams and life; dare you to be
Loved? For in that love there is loss. And gain. And magic in the night.

And in that magic, gentle weaved; with kisses silent, passions cleaved
Love comes silent; boldly, bravely, smashes logic wildly, safely.
Do we cling with eyes wide open lest she fly? Oh flee she may not.
Or I should die.

Thank you, Lord

Thank you Lord for saving me
You took our sin and set us free.
O Lord of heaven we pledge to be
Your humble servants faithfully
And God in glory we will see.
You'll bring us safe to be with Thee.

From day to day within our life
We praise Your name within our strife
With open hearts to let You in
You've freed our souls from all our sin.
Dear Lord of heaven so graciously
Your children yearn so needfully.

When darkness falls and perils near
Your Spirit comforts us held dear.
Bolster our hearts with Your sweet love
And guide us to Your heaven above.
Perfect Redeemer, through Your Son
Help us to fight till war is won.

With You in heaven we'll take our place
And worship round Your holy face
No more to sin or worries raise
Our souls in glory bring You praise.
We herald Your blessing, for at last
Our earthly journey is now past.

Brief Encounter..

Carnforth

"I saw it once. The clock; the one on Carnforth Station.

My train steamed past it and I looked.

And thought, of the film, THAT film with the lovers
as they kissed and said goodbye.

"Good bye". As I steamed past.

It was black and white. That world of long ago.

That world was. It was more real that way.
Hitler in colour? No, that wasn't him, he looked real in black
Real like Crewe? Dirt and grey?

Steam and love as she watched from the windows
To his waving; hating the yards getting longer
In the maddening fury of haste
To get away.

As the clock ticked on to gone."

Why I like poetry

Poetry is words set to love.. or dreams.. a magic of the night and an eternity of longing. Poetry is an excuse to sing and be bold, weave magic from words to fabrics of the heart. Poetry is dance and song, words that echo and touch. Words are not love but in their sounds are all the songs of love and magic; laughter and song, desire and truth. We are to love to give, to create to sing our songs of joy to our Creator. Love is the glue and magic of the universe.

The Ballroom

In my head there is a ballroom of light
And the spotlight falls on you.
You light up my life in songs and promise.

Your skin glows in the limelight of love
As the ball glitters silly twinkles to nowhere;
Your eyes glow with the moment.

You, in your red top, my lady in red
That is as mad as I am yours, as I was
In times gone by, of moments long forgotten.

You twirl, your dress, your eyes, your white breasts
The song of your love, haunting
That captures my soul to you as I fall in love with you

Again. For love we did then, a time ago
In a different space and time unknown
We loved in wild passion and soft kisses

And I fly to you in my heart with but one tear
That escapes my guarded love
Afraid to give, my gift to my queen

I take my bravery to you.
I look to your eyes long and fall into the dark
No more do I fear, no more the angels mock and guard.

I give to her my heart for She
Is the owner of my soul as I am hers
To cherish in love all time.

About this poem:
This is one of those poems that is prompted by thoughts of love in a memorable, romantic and tender sense. The lady is real but is of my imagination; she is a yearning dream.. I have more of these...

I am Jealous

I am jealous. Jealous of the sun that shines on you and kisses your skin.
I am jealous of the lipstick that is with you on lips I adore for hours when my lips touch yours for seconds.
I am jealous of music that excites you and touches your soul.
I am jealous of the air you breathe that goes deep within you.
I am jealous of the water that surrounds your naked beauty and caresses your skin in your bath.
I am jealous of the bra you wear that holds your breasts.
I am jealous of the moon that shines through your window at night and touches your face with silver.
I am jealous of your shoes that carry you away from me.
I am jealous of your underwear that covers intimately where I long to kiss.
Yes, I am jealous for a love that gives all and demands no competition in the entirety of love. The needs of heart and soul and burning love build a fortress of love whence jealous cannot enter.
