Promise Keeper

Many times we make vows or a promise to do something for others and fail to keep that promise. Many times we have also made a vow or promise to God, that if He helps us through or out of such and such, we promise to never do it again, or never say this or that again; or we promise if He gets rid of John or make Sally go away and leave us along, we promise never to be in their company again. Yet, when God delivers us out of whatever we have asked of Him, based on our prayer request (s) and promises we make to Him, for whatever reason (s), we tend to turn right around and repeat, or get back together with certain persons or people, or do the very thing that we promised God we would not do again if He delivered us.

But have you ever noticed that God keeps His vows to us but we fail to keep our vows to Him. We make void and empty vows which are promise, that we know we are not going to keep, just to get over and feel spiritually connected with God.

We profess and confess, that ‘God is good all the time, and all the times God is good’. But have you ever ask yourselves the questions, 'why God has been so good to me, and He's good all the time? Why it is that I’m not good all the time, and all the time I'm not good or thankful to God for what He has done for me, even when I'm undeserving of any of His goodness? Why does He keep on blessing me?

God in all His love, grace and mercy, gets us in and out of troubles, even if He allows us to suffer the consequences of our wrongs, He's still with us as we endure our just punishments. James tells us that, if a person knows to do right, and does not do it, for that person this is sin! (James chapter 4) Those God loves He also must punish as would our earthly parents punished us for wrong doings. This we don't like, but the chastisement of the Lord brings us into knowledge and position as to who we are in Him, and who He is in us.(Hebrew chapter 12) God keeps His promises whether we're good or wicked, saints or sinners, with blessings or punishments, or whether we like the punishment or not, or praise Him or not. All in all He is still God and we are the vessels of His craftsmanship.

Thanksgiving comes once a year, and its always a good thing to stop in all our busyness and give thanks to God, that it is as it is in your lives, could very well be worse. You should thank Him for what He has already done in your life; thank Him for what He is doing in your life; and thank Him for what He’s going to do in your life although it has not yet come to pass. But knowing that He is a Promise Keeper; and if you have faith to believe in your heart that what you have asked of Him in your prayer requests according to Him perfect will, plans and purposes in your life, whatsoever you asked, He promises it shall be done.

God has been good to all of us year round daily, and we have so much to be thankful for as nations of people and as individuals we have our freedom. Therefore, we should have no problems freely giving God the praise and honor and glory due His holy name. Thanks be to God that it as well as it is in our lives, our homes, our cities, in our nations, and for the condition our condition is in; thanks be to God everyday for your reasonable health and strength and for being "half-way enclosed in your right mind", thanks be to God for all things whether good , bad, ugly, the indifferent, your family, your friends, and your foes, and prayerfully, lessons for daily living have been learnt through everything we have experienced this past year. Knowing that, had it not been for the Lord on our side, you could very well been dead and gone on this earth sleeping in your grave.

O, Praise the LORD GOD of Israel, all you people! Praise Him all you people, for His merciful kindness is great toward us; and the truth of the LORD endures forever... LET EVERYTHING THAT HAS BREATH PRAISE THE LORD!!! Psalm 117

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE ON CS!angel2

Hi Callie!
Thanks for the great reminder for our daily devotions and thanksgiving! As you celebrate this festive season, may we ask the Lord to help us keep our promises to one another and to him the most High. On another note, the blog on Divorce has disappeared before I could respond to the many interesting insights on holiness, the morden church and the girls in long dresses..... I can't discuss it on this blog shame.
Forgot.... Happy Thanksgiving to American friends!
Very nice Callie,
But how many people remember God in happy time of his / her.
We pray to God when we come in great problem or in trouble.
Thanks friend for your nice blog.
Thank you so much RCM my dear friend, for your words. You're so true, and its very sad how we treat God as our Santa Claus, butler, and handyman... yet He remains faithful as Jim states.. but our GOD IS A GREAT BIG, BIG GOD, and He knows all He has to do is slightly think on taking all of us off the face if this earth, and it shall be done... thanks for popping in and sharing.
