ANOTHER YOUNG MAN DIES FILLING THE MANDATORY MILITARY SERVICE IN CUBA

Embedded image from another site

A young Cuban recently passed away while doing compulsory military service.
The young Dayron Pupo Mastrapa was serving in a Military Unit in Havana, when he died suddenly at the age of 22. "Today August 19 is a sad day, we have lost one of the Dayron Pupo Mastrapa family," wrote a Cuban in a public Facebook group.
But the news was not made public until a few hours ago, which has been published by several independent media on the island.
Another of the posts published on social networks says: "His name Dayron Pupo Mastrapa was doing compulsory military service in Havana, his body was delivered to his parents in a sealed box. His father opened it and found his son without teeth. and practically unrecognizable due to the state of decomposition".
Reach the family of the deceased young man the most sincere condolences!!!
We Cubans demand from the regime on the island a sincere statement about this unfortunate death and about each of the young people who have died in unusual circumstances while they were forced into military service.

Man Stores Rainwater Since 1976 and Has 6,000 Liters to Get Through Drought. WISE thinking? Yep.

Embedded image from another site
By Andy Corbley -Aug 24, 2022

Even though the English government recently announced a ban on garden hose watering in the west of the country, Peter Harden has kept right on hosing worry-free.
That’s because Harden has been storing rainwater in large catch thanks for almost 50 years, and with 6,000 liters (1,500 gallons) of water available to him, his paddock is the greenest on the block.

An 82-year-old retired teacher, Peter Harden has lived in his bungalow for 52 years, and said he installed his first rainwater catch tanks after a famous English drought in 1976.
The keen gardener noticed droughts in the UK were getting more intense and became inspired to take precautions by he and his wife’s holidays to Europe.

“Our holidays abroad in Europe over 50 years frequently included cultural visits to ancient Greek and Roman towns,” said Harden. “We were always impressed by the huge number of domestic underground cisterns that the Romans et al. pre-built to catch rainwater for very dry summers.”

“With this experience in mind, I gradually increased the number and size of my rainwater catch tanks until about 15 years ago when I had nine 375 liter capacity tanks fed directly by rainwater from the bungalow’s guttering.”

But why such dedication? Peter lives in one of the driest areas in the UK. The clay beneath his property in Ingoldsby, Lincolnshire, does hold water, but as soon as the UK gets a drought the clay starts to crack. Now the region is experiencing its worst drought in 26 years, and to protect municipal water reserves, a hose pipe ban has been introduced in parts of the West Country.

“We live in an area with one of the lowest mean rainfalls in the country. We get a circa of 22 inches per year,” said Harden, who about eight years ago supplemented his 9 catch tanks with two more, 1,000 liter (250 gallon) intermediate bulk containers, before adding another pair just recently.

The bulk water containers sit at the bottom of the garden and are filled directly by garden hose from some of the 375-liter catch tanks. “Using an electrically-powered submersible water pump, I pump water through a garden hose from one of the tanks through a spray attached to the garden hose,” he explained.

“As the level of water falls in the one tank it levels out in the other tanks through gravity feed through the interconnected pipes. “Three of my original 375-liter tanks have since become unserviceable and I am waiting to replace them. I also am trying to buy two more 1,000 liter bulk containers to increase my water storage volume.”

Not slowing down, he says he aims to store 9,000 liters soon.

Kobe...

I originally blogged about Kobe Bryant's helicopter crash in January 2020, where all nine aboard had perished.

Kobe's multi-million dollar Sikorsky didn't have any obstacle avoidance equipment, something found on hobby drones costing $500. I'm sure the avoidance system on a corporate helicopter would be thousands and very sophisticated. Maybe the FAA should rethink the minimum safety equipment required for commercial aircraft leasing companies.

It wasn't long after the crash, I began to hear about leaked photos of the dead bodies taken by the first responders. I figured it would all fade away. It didn't.

News today from Associated Press:
"Kobe Bryant’s widow was awarded $16 million as part of a $31 million jury verdict Wednesday against Low Angeles County for deputies and firefighters sharing grisly photos of the NBA star, his 13-year-old daughter and other victims killed in a 2020 helicopter crash."

Reader reviews were mixed.
Some were slanted that basically Vanessa Bryant is so rich she didn't need the money.

Pillsbury Doughboy Is Dead

The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and complications from repeated pokes in the belly.

He was 71.

Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin.

Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies and Captain Crunch.

The grave site was piled high with flours.

Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded.

Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes.

Despite being a little flaky at times, he still, as a crusty old man, was considered a roll model for millions.

Doughboy is survived by his wife, Play Dough; two children John Dough and Jane Dough; plus they had one in the oven.

He is also survived by his elderly father Pop Tart.

The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

Freedom of speech?

I suppose.
News story about Luis Miguel seeking a house seat in the Florida Legislature states on Twitter that 'under his plan, federal agents could be shot on sight in the state.' He told the website Florida Politics that Twitter had notified him that his account had been permanently suspended, which he later confirmed to NBC News on Friday. According to the story, a Twitter spokesperson said the account is permanently suspended for violating the company's hateful conduct policy.

Miguel confirmed to NBC News that his tweet on Thursday said: “Under my plan, all Floridians will have permission to shoot FBI, IRS, ATF and all other feds on sight! Let freedom ring!”

Obviously, conservatives are 'going off the rails' since the FBI served Trump a search warrant and seized boxes of documents at Mar-a-Lago.

The scary part is the unruly activity and growing support for Trump despite several investigations to him and his corporations.

A man who has never seen a woman in his entire life.

A Greek monk named Mihailo Tolotos who lived on this earth for 82 years but never saw a woman in his entire life.
He didn't know what a woman looked like. It's unbelievable and amazing. He was born in 1856 and died in 1938.
When he was born, his mother died and some men carried him and gave him to the Orthodox Monks at a monastery atop the Mount Athos. There he was raised and tutored, and he spent his life in the service of the monastery.

I don't know how much truth is there in this story?
Wouldn't he have known that there are two types of human beings, male and female? Wouldn't he have been curious to see and know about female?
Well, it is true that if we do not see or hear about something, then we will not have any curiosity or desire for it.

Ya'll remember Sidney Powell?

Sidney Powell aka The Kraken, the attorney who teamed up with Rudy Giuliani for the 2020 presidential election who alleged that Dominion Voting Systems were set to run an algorithm to take a certain number of votes from Trump and flip them to Biden.
She's been quiet as of late and tonight her name popped up in the news.

"Embattled Trump attorney Sidney Powell helped coordinate with a team of computer experts who succeeded in breaching Georgia election files in rural Coffee County and accessing election data that included voter check-in computers and ballot memory cards, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. Local election officials reportedly gave the group access to equipment that was meant to be protected.

Atlanta-area tech company SullivanStrickler billed Powell more than $26,000 for its work, according to the outlets, which also included attempts to access similar election data in Antrim County, Michigan, and Clark County, Nevada."

I've made a few predictions on CS that came true and I've got a feeling a wave of bad karma is going to hit Sidney like the power of and angry voodoo priestess.
