Trump beats Biden in hypothetical 2024 match-up – poll Published:

The ex-president also remains the first choice for Republicans, leaving top contender Ron DeSantis far behind

Former US President Donald Trump would beat current leader Joe Biden in a hypothetical 2024 match-up, a new poll has revealed.

If the presidential election were held now, Trump would enjoy the support of 47% of Americans, while Biden would receive 41% of the vote, a Harvard CAPS-Harris survey conducted on March 23-24 and published by The Hill on Monday shows.

Vice President Kamala Harris would apparently perform even worse against the former president than her boss – 38% of 1,990 respondents would vote for her against 49% for Trump.

Holocaust survivors reunite 79 years later in unexpected encounter

BOCA RATON, Fla. —
Sam Ron pointed to a framed photo on the wall inside his home in Boca Raton, Florida.
"This is my house in Poland," he said.

The photo hangs along with dozens of others.

"This is after the war," he said. "We survived."

They are all photos of Ron and his family, both before and after their time in concentration camps in World War II.

"It was terrible. Hunger was the worst thing at the camp," Ron said.

In all, Ron survived five different camps during the war, including a labor camp in Poland called Pionki.

"That camp was hard work, very little food," Ron said.

After the war, Ron crossed the Atlantic Ocean to the United States. He has called South Florida his home for the last 25 years.

Last week, he was the honorary speaker at an event in Boca Raton hosted by the Holocaust Memorial Museum. There were other holocaust survivors there also, including a man named Jack Waksal.

At his home in Bal Harbour, Waksal showed sister station WPBF his mementos from his childhood and from the war, including a photo of himself shortly after the war ended.

"That's when I came out of the forest," he said, referring to where he spent the final six months of World War II, hiding from the Nazis.

Waksal said when he arrived at the event in Boca Raton, he quickly thought he knew Ron from somewhere, but couldn't place it.

"He was standing to the side," Waksal said. "And I said to somebody, 'I know this guy.'"

Eventually, everyone found their tables and the event began and included a video about Ron's life and the many camps he survived.

"They say that I was in the Camp Pionki," Ron said with a smile on his face. "This one guy jumped out from the house and came over to kiss me. 'You're my brother! You’re my brother!'"

That "one guy" was Waksal.

"I went to his table, and I said, 'Sam! You are alive!'" Waksal said.

Waksal had also been an inmate at Pionki, working side by side with Ron. Neither man knew if the other had survived.

The two men hadn’t seen each other in 79 years.

"Oh, I was all excited," Ron said. "This was unusual. It’s 79 years now. We’re 97 years old!"

"You think it’s never going to happen," Waksal said, shaking his head. "But it did happen."

"I met a lot of people before this," Ron said. "But not like this. After 80 years?"

As they talked, the two men realized the similar paths they had taken. Both men came to the United States after the war and both settled in Ohio for years. They then both moved to Florida and then they reunited by chance at a dinner in Boca Raton.

"It's an amazing story. I was so taken by this," Ron said. "It got me a lot of hope. I was very excited about it."

Ron and Waksal have spoken by phone since the dinner and have promised to keep in touch.

Ukrainian peace negotiators suffered symptoms of suspected 'chemical weapons' poisoning after talks

Symptoms included red eyes, constant and painful tearing and peeling skin on their hands and faces.

Sanctioned Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich and Ukrainian peace negotiators were victims of a suspected poisoning earlier this month - reportedly using chemical weapons.

Symptoms included red eyes, constant and painful tearing and peeling skin on their hands and faces, a source confirmed to Sky News.

The Guardian's Shaun Walker said Mr Abramovich lost his sight for several hours and had to be treated in Turkey.

A Ukrainian negotiator said all members of the team are working normally, while it is understood the Chelsea FC owner is fine and continues to work on the negotiations.

However a US official said on Monday that the "intelligence highly suggests" the cause was environmental, not poisoning.

Investigative website Bellingcat said the dosage and type of toxin was likely insufficient to cause life-threatening damage and "most likely was intended to scare".

Detaining the swamp...

I always get a chuckle when someone recalls Trump's comment to drain the swamp and a handful of his closest cronies get jailed.
Today, former Trump advisor and swamp creature Paul Manafort was removed from a plane at the Miami International Airport today before it headed to Dubai.
Manafort was carrying a revoked passport.
Awhile back he had 3. Amazing isn't it?

Detaining the swamp... laugh

What is a woman? SCOTUS nominee - ??????????

Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson refused to define the word 'woman' during the fiery second day of her confirmation hearing conducted by the Senate's Judiciary Committee.

The moment came during a tense exchange with Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) who pressed Jackson on sex and gender issues amid the fallout of biological male swimmer Lia Thomas storming to victory in the NCAA championships against female competitors.

Quoting late Supreme Court judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Blackburn said: 'Physical differences between men and women are enduring. The two sexes are not fungible. A community made up exclusively of one sex is different from a community composed of both.'

'Do you agree with Justice Ginsburg that there are physical differences between men and women that are enduring?' the senator asked.

When Jackson claimed she had never heard the quote, Blackburn asked directly: 'Can you define the word ''woman''?'

'Can I provide a definition?' Jackson responded.

'No, I can't,' she declared, before adding: 'I'm not a biologist'.

Jackson's staunch refusal to offer a definition of a woman came at the end of the second day of questioning which tackled the big issues of race, abortion and judicial philosophy.

It was a grueling marathon of debate for President Joe Biden's historic pick, who is making history as the first black woman nominated for the court.

an extreme state of decomposition...

A man was in the crawl space trying to fix a plumbing issue at his girlfriend’s mobile home in western Pennsylvania when he discovered another problem.
He tells her "I think there is a dead body under there."
He was right.

The woman has lived in the mobile home for about five years with her daughter and she sometimes thought a dead animal was causing a bad smell.

FIVE YEARS??

Something about this story stinks!

Russia tells US envoy that Russian-American relations are on the verge of rupture

The Russian Foreign Ministry said Monday that it had summoned the U.S. ambassador to warn that President Joe Biden's recent remarks have put Russian-American relations on the verge of rupture.

Biden last week described Russian President Vladimir Putin as a "war criminal" as Russia's missile attacks on Ukraine cities intensified. The Foreign Ministry, in a social media post, called the statement and other references to Putin and the Russian invasion "unworthy of a statesman of such high rank."

The ministry warned Ambassador John Sullivan that hostile actions taken against Russia would be met with a "decisive and firm rebuff."

The warning came hours after Ukraine firmly rejected a Russian offer to open two safe corridors out of Mariupol in exchange for the city's surrender as the relentless missile strikes on the battered seaport city stretched deeper into a fourth week.

Russian forces, facing stiff resistance against their invasion of Ukraine, have sought to gain control of cities but can claim few successes thus far. The Kremlin says its "special operation" is going as planned. But a senior Pentagon official, who spoke on condition of anonymity Monday, said Russian President Vladimir Putin has not achieved his goals and is relying on bombardment of cities in a “near-desperate” effort to gain momentum.

Mariupol, crucial for its access to the Sea of Azov, has been pounded by Russian artillery since the war began more than three weeks ago. Russian forces have been accused of bombing civilian shelters, and hundreds of thousands have recently fled the city.

Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk made it clear that Mariupol won't fall without a fight.

“There can be no talk of any surrender, laying down of arms," she told Ukrainian Pravda. "We have already informed the Russian side about this."

Mercedes Grabowski aka August Ames...

She was born in Nova Scotia, Canada, November 1994 and worked in the adult film industry making more than 200 movies. Married to a movie producer, August who suffered from depression, committed suicide by hanging in 2017.
Why did I blog about a dead porn star?
Scammers are still using her photos.
One showed up this morning in using a photo of August and claiming to live in Oklahoma, California. I wasn't aware there is a city named Oklahoma in the state of California.

The New York Times Suddenly Discovers Hunter Biden Laptop and Corruption Investigations Are Real

If you are really industrious, you can dig 20 pages into the A section of today’s New York Times and find a 1,700-word news story by three of its top reporters, relating that the Justice Department’s investigation of President Biden’s son, Hunter, is not merely a tax matter. Turns out that prosecutors are probing his penchant for cashing in on his father’s political influence, through payments by overseas entities for which he did not register as a foreign agent.

Well, I’ll be damned!

Even better, if you wade 23 paragraphs into the story, you will learn that prosecutors are examining emails between Biden and his business associates that come from “a cache of files that appears to have come from a laptop abandoned by Mr. Biden in a Delaware repair shop.”

You don’t say.

You may recall that the laptop was reported on extensively by the New York Post because the emails showed that Hunter provided access to his father, then the vice president of the United States, for a corrupt Ukrainian energy firm that was paying Hunter goo-gobs of money to sit on its board — even though Hunter had no relevant experience. (See the Post’s reporting, e.g., here, and my column here; see also my column, here, on a digital recording in which Hunter discusses his lucrative dealings with executives of a regime-connected Chinese firm, one of whom –Patrick Ho — he refers to as “the f***ing spy chief of China,” and another of whom — Ye Jianming — he describes as a billionaire who “is now missing.”)

Yet, in the weeks prior to the 2020 election, the media-Democrat complex and its allies who run the big social-media platforms zealously suppressed coverage of the Hunter computer files, claiming they had not been authenticated and could be Russian disinformation (an absurd lie amplified by the Biden campaign). The Times was right there with them.

Ron could be in jail the rest of his life...

Every few weeks, there is a news story update about Ron Jeremy, former porn star who was arrested a few years ago and it appears they have thrown away the key!
He's got a schlong long list of offenses and Ron could be in jail the rest of his life...

Held without bond, he's got some 30 criminal counts pending against him.
A few weeks ago he requested that each case be handled individually.
Today's news is the case against him be suspended as they now question his mental health.

According to his attorney:
"Six weeks before the start of a trial on charges that he sexually assaulted nearly two dozen women, Jeremy, 69, was unable to recognize his attorney, refused to get into his wheelchair and was generally "nonresponsive" inside of a cell at a downtown L.A. courthouse."
So now, the Judge agreed to pause his criminal case and scheduled a mental health competency hearing for April.

Good luck Ron... but it looks like you'll be needing more than luck to survive this one.
