Q:My password appears in the login box whenever I visit Connecting Singles. How do I stop this?
Answer
First of all, this is your Browser, NOT Connecting Singles, that is saving your password for you and putting it into the login box on Connecting Singles. Connecting Singles has no control over this.
Fortunately you can fix this. See directions below:
If your password automatically appears in the login box, it means Password Manager is enabled on your computer. You enabled it the first time you came to Connecting Singles (or any other site), when your browser gave you a pop-up message asking if you wanted to save your login info for this site. If you clicked yes, your username and password would automatically be entered into the login box every time you came to this site using that computer, and anyone after you could sign in as you also. This is a Browser setting and has nothing to do with this website.
You can disable that auto-login feature (see below for Firefox instructions). To protect your privacy, you should NOT use Password Manager if you share a computer with anyone else, or use a computer in a library or other public place.
Firefox: Directions for disabling auto login
Password Manager is on by default. To turn it off:
Open the Edit menu and choose Preferences.
From the Privacy & Security category, choose Web Passwords. (If no subcategories are visible, double-click the category to expand the list.)
In the Password Manager section, deselect "Remember passwords for sites that require me to log in" to turn Password Manager off.
Managing Stored Passwords To see a list of the user names and passwords you have stored:
Open the Tasks menu, choose Privacy & Security, and then choose Password Manager.
Select View Stored Passwords from the submenu. You see the Password Manager window.
Click the Passwords Saved tab. You see a list of all the stored user names. (Passwords are not listed.)
To remove a user name, click it and then click Remove. The next time you visit the web site, you will be asked to enter your password.
Click the Passwords Never Saved tab to see a list of the web sites for which you instructed Password Manager never to store user names. To remove a web site from this list, click it and then click Remove. The next time you visit the web site, you will be asked if you want Password Manager to save the user name and password for this site. Click "No".

Q:How do I post images in my Blog?
Answer
There are two ways to post images on your blog. If the image is located on the web, you can link to it, and if not, you can upload it to CS.
If the image is on another website: find the image you want on another website, then right click on the image and copy the url where it says "Address (URL)", then post the url of the image into your blog between [img][/img] tags.
For example: [img]http://www.connectingsingles.com/i/free_online_dating.jpg[/img]
upload the image to CS: Click on Blogs in the top nav, then click on My Blogs, then click on Upload Blog Photos. Upload the photo(s) you want to include in your blog, then copy the code in the column next to the image that says "Image Code" and paste that into your blog.

Go to www.youtube.com, find the video that you want to post in your blog, and copy the URL of that video. Then paste that into your blog between [youtube][/youtube] tags.
For example: [youtube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SaA_cs4WZHM[/youtube]
Click on the eCard you want to send, click the "Send this eCard" button.
On the next page, enter the username of the person you'd like to send to (you must spell it exactly correct). You can also choose a user from your favorites list that will be loaded on that page.
Next type in your message, and click "Send eCard". If you want, you can also change the way the card looks (the colors, font-styles, etc.), and you can also change the music.

Q:Why has no one viewed my profile?
Answer
There can be several reasons:
Your profile is hidden or not approved yet
You recently joined, so no one has had the chance to view your profile yet
You don't have a photo and so you aren't appearing on very many search results. Most members search by photo-only.
You have just turned this feature on after having it off for a while. While it was off, views to your profile were not being recorded.
Your views were automatically deleted by our system after 70 days, and you haven't been checking them.
Q:What is the difference between an article and a blog?
Answer
Article: An article is a nonfictional composition on a specific topic (stated in the title) about something you have experience or expertise in, or that you have researched.
It's presented in an unbiased manner and strives to prove or accomplish its theme. If an opinion is given, it should be based on knowledge. An article has a lesson or point to make and a conclusion. It's goal is to inform and/or entertain. An article is more formal than a blog, and is normally a minimum of 250 words in length. Feedback comments are accepted.
Blog: A blog entry can be whatever you want it to be... it's a personal journal of rants and raves, your opinions or ideas on any topic, or it could be just a note about your day. A blog post is an opinion, therefore biased, can be of any length, and research is not required. it's less formal than an article. Comments are accepted.
Forum Post: If you want to have a group discussion with many members on any topic of general interest, post it in the CS Forum.
