I think it is just the way the news is presented now-a-days.
In the USA when there is a horrific dog bite for example - the media drag out more and more old stories of dogs biting children - some of them years old news.
The media does this for current events - so that when we read the news reports - we think GAWD the world is going to hell in a handbasket! of course that is what I think when in reality - some of the reports are from stories that are older than the current news.
I try to take a step back and look around me - my neighbors, my workplace, while driving in traffic, talking to friends......
You block people that are not in your area or age range - so someone who might just want to send you a hello to cheer you up - who is not interested in you romantically - got blocked - go figure
In 1959, the Royal Canadian Air Force celebrated its 35th anniversary along with 50 years of powered aviation in Canada. To mark that special occasion, a team known as the "Golden Hawks" were created and were first equipped with 6 Canadair Sabre Mk.5 aircraft and later with the Mk.6 version. The airplanes were distinctively painted in overall gold with a stylized red and white hawk emblem painted on each side of the fuselage. In 1960, with the growing popularity of the "Golden Hawks", their pilots received new Air Force blue flying suits and red flying jackets that became their trademark along with a new team patch.
The "Golden Hawks" airshow typically lasted for 25 minutes. In spite of having been originally created for only one year, the team actually remained in existence until Feb 7, 1964, when they were finally disbanded for financial reasons. In total, they gave 317 air demonstrations and they also became the first RCAF display team to visit the USA in 1960.
The team also had two support aircraft, a Canadair-produced CT-133 Silver Star (a license-built version of the T-33 Shooting Star), which was also painted in team's colors. -
No - don't you think there are just going to be mini (not my word) conflicts around the world.... lots of strife and civil wars - however, not a world one....
Ccincy is one of my favorites for her pithy responses.
Maddog and Bogart for their opinions on world affairs
Bombom and RDM and there are six or seven others - cause I meet them at a CS get-together in Glasgow and I now can put together faces and whole real persons with their thread comments
err you are on my list Reb!..... .... just where did I put that list?..... ah here, chocolate, flower, grapes, bread, a jug of wine.... "how to irritate men on CS site?".... political thread quotes....ah my list of favorites!
It takes two to make a baby - you had a birth control responsibility too! and those are still your children to take care of, right? And if she "got herself pregnant, twice? where were you in this "getting of"
So I say, thoughtlessly or not, it is stupid of some young women to put the cart before the horse - meaning motherhood is not just about getting pregnant and having the government benefits provided for the bare minimum. Children are a costly even with two parents providing for them in a family.
That's a little too much California dreaming for me.
a while back, I asked my local government to institute some rules that would reduce the plastics in all the restaurants that produce lunch bags, plastic bags that the forks, spoon etc come in, the paper napkins, plastic that wraps the styrofoam lunch try and bowl - I sent a suggestion about what Ireland is doing to reduce the consumption.
I was told it was a State legislation decision and then I found out - Miami has a major plastic based industry here - who knew! It is a very large industry! So why should I worry about my little recycling habits in the large scale scheme of things.....
line up with all the environmentalists, scientists and find a few of those meetings...
just some interesting information - one volcano eruption produces more toxin into the atmosphere than one year's worth of car emissions - in plate techtonic theory the earth's crust is continually moving and the shifting....
the rain forests are being burned down to make way for gold and other resource mining - all at the agreement of the local governments - good luck with changing that.
so what would you do about that?
I am just getting so jaded by people that think they can make a difference in the fate of the world.....on a global scale....
on-line dating is just the initial communication tool - it is mean to open up the pool of potential dates - once you chat on line, next is telephone, and or next meet in person - without the personal contact -
I don't think you can date through just contact with a keypad.... although I have been proven wrong before.
RE: What is the most important lessons you’ve learned in life?
I found that at this age - stage in life - I realize I have learned nothing in all the life lessons I have received......except don't drink coffee when it it too hot - it will burn your tongue.
