I imagine that when they can go from any country after they are in Europe then, they of course, aim to go to the most economic and prosperous place ie Germany, UK, Sweden, France and so on and on. But mostly wherever they are given a better opportunity for economic gain.
Depends CC. On the story published by Wall Street Journal yesterday, it says that at least it takes 2 years to process their papers and investigate everything and then depends on how they live, the permanent residence is very limited now and very difficult to renew.
And yes unless you are naturalized you can't vote nor work for some various government function except for the post office.
Thanks String. I will try to have a good time. I normally go there at least every two years. My best friend and I visit each other every now and then. She came to US last September and stayed in Florida and this time it is my turn to go to her.
I will post while I am there. She is the one who introduced me to this site 4 years ago.
Thanks Bab, if you will be near Paris, I would love to invite you for a cup of coffee. I will be in Southern France for ten days. Hopefully go to England for 3 days.
No way Epirb. I subscribe to the WSJ just to update me with this situation and yesterday, it said on page A6 that the Obama administration is very careful in screening these refugees.
You are kidding Ooby, right? California with 48 million population, and the biggest state to have the illegal immigrants, that would be a disastrous proposal. I am leaving California Ooby. Although all my children live there. I am lucky I both live there and Mid West. But no don't ever tell Kerry that.
Exactly just what Conrad said in one of the post. What does it matter that we think there is only few terrorists there are, when that small number can destroy the whole world and humanity? I think we should and must not underestimate their terror capability.
That is scary Babbette and I am flying to France on the 28th of this month. I hope there will be no untoward happening in Paris during my 2 weeks stay. Yay yay yay.
Now that is a very challenging situation for the host country to investigate. Imagine any country with no government and they claim they are from that place. Yes how can you even start investigation when there is nothing to start it with?
Pretty hard and I am sure this will complicate the (processing) investigation.
That is 16,000 a month and 176,000 a year. Germany actually said that they can get as much as 800,000 more. Now where will it end is yet to be determined. If it is possible at all.
I don't see the point in underestimating the harm and danger these terrorists can do to humanity Obs.
Not miniscule at all.
As you said scare monger is not the problem, we're way past that point. War monger is more like it and we must or the world must be prepared for the worst.
This unprecedented and or unexpected massive influx leaves Europe unprepared at all.
Exactly the report of Rush Limbaugh on his talk radio Obs. He validates the objective of the ISIS that by bombing Syria, it actually helps them push their focus and drive on caliphating the world. Boy I can see them laughing at all of us.
Just think as to how many of these migrants are actually terrorists themselves.
I am most certainly sure that there is a great number of those who would want to infiltrate us with the objective of killing us Tom. According to the report published at the WSJ yesterday, it takes at least 2 years before a refugee is completed in the thorough investigation. Even then, I wouldn't be surprised that some of them are already entering our borders from the south.
Good night John. I've written so many poems and some of them are on the PC for your peruse, but I doubt that it lasts thousands of years like those lines.
It's reported that this conflict started in 2011. However, this Exodus just happened recently and is continuing to happen.
The European policy of returning them to seek asylum to the original country where they come from is nit applicable to Germany based on Merkel's decision to accommodate them. That's why I was surprised at her change of policy.
Meantime the US is deciding as to how many of these true asylum seekers can be accepted. According to the report there's about 1500 being carefully examined, investigated to ensure terrorists are not ones of them.
It's interesting to find out, how each country can cope and balance peace on this massive influx. I hope there's enough manpower to protect all the people.
Germany: Sympathetic to all Syrian Refugees
I don't think that will happen. But you never know.
