China Building Island in Disputed Waters

Whatever functions China projects on this building it alienates relationship with the world and more so with its neighboring countries. Otherwise why does it treat the US monitoring as though an invasion?

China Building Island in Disputed Waters

Well if it's what I think it is then China will have Z great advantage on the distance to annihilate naval fleet posted in the Pacific by the West.

RE: More Women are Choosing to remain single and Childless

For the childless part, I think again because of independence. I have four lovely children. But if you look at the birth growth of both the Latinos and blacks, it is sustained that they do hold the highest number, I read that before and I don't know if that is still the case.

But even for the white couple family, they hold the smallest number of child birth in population.

RE: More Women are Choosing to remain single and Childless

Tom do I gather that matured women and or married women and divorced are opting to be single and not marry anympre?

If yes, I think it depends on the location and economic trends.

For the women in the first and second world, probably so, because for economic reasons, the country they live in generally in a first and second level, they are provided with all the benefits for living and for health care. But for the rest of the world, that kind of mentality and or option is simply not available. But in reality countries of which is below poverty and without all the government supports, couples stay married much longer for economic reasons. The Philippines for instance, couple has no law that allow them to get divorced in the first place and on top of that there is no economic supplement and or health provisions for people per se.

Now in the case of choice, generally that is the case specially in the west. Why not, I for instance would choose to be single if I had to because, first I am very independent and while not economically wealthy (like I used to, lost two houses and investments in the economic melt down) at least I can live as comfortable as I want to and can travel the world should I choose to.

Now having said that, economic reasons are only partial of the equation. Freedom is very important to me. I must be able to do anything I want when I want and how I want it. Not saying that I don't have a man that loves me to death, heck no, my ex husband is still crying to get me back, but boy this life that I lead is the best. That is being single. And yes, I was married twice already. First one was only for a year (sot and alcoholic), the second is 30 years and gave me four lovely and beautiful children. Now proposal is endless should I entertain them, in RL and in here, but no. I am having fun in life and so be it.

So why do we join Nancy? Because I can and I love my options. I am lucky that I don't live in the third world, but perhaps even if I did, I would have been the exception because I had a profession that sustained my economic needs. (College professor).

RE: More Women are Choosing to remain single and Childless

This is a very real observation. We can't blanket the reasons why the original post can be valid without variables in consideration.

Naked, thanks for joining but can you truly feel the gratitude flowing in one's mind when they're destitute and all they have is life's cruelty?

religious differences

Great point Michael. I do want to hear the response. 76 percent of the world are below poverty, would it be easy for them to be grateful?

religious differences

Thanks Heather, it makes sense. Time is of the essence. Sort of it will happen. Just don't know when.

I hope we don't have to wait for a million more years Heather. sad flower

Indeed Dj. Thanks for joining in. IF and when we reach that point, we're really going to say, we've achieved peace.

Tom let them air some frustrations, this place is for everyone to bicker, appreciate and aver each one's mind. The most important thing is calm down and let it go.
The purpose of every discussion is to agree or disagree, either way there will always be the bully and superior as well as the coy and humble. All of us are all capable at one time or another.

For the pundits enjoy.

RE: The Next War.

Tom the G7 just finished the summit done in Bavaria yesterday.
One wonders what shape our world is going through as military and economic strain starts to build up. Of course Russia will always be eager to exhibit it's prowess just as much as China.
ROB just posted on my post about the extensive military arsenal built by China.
Figure out what's cooking and we can speculate what's going to happen. And soon.

China Building Island in Disputed Waters

I surely wouldn't want to see how it will function as intended Rob

That's good to know Kid and hopefully we can really find peace in our conflicted world.

And by the way Galrads, look at the 76 percent of the world who'd never have a chance of getting awakened in this life. Regardless as to how we respond sometimes, we all have to agree, this is a matter of privileged to share and learn all these, right?
I personally thank CS, and all participants specially for those who has contributed greatly on the core of the post, if only to seek more that which make mankind benefit.

RE: They're coming through the windows.

Steve that's a fact. Now so as to create balance and harmony perhaps we should post something like the best of every world?

religious differences

Tom I have so many blogs and others, too that is available for everyone to read how obnoxious she became on some of those responses if not aggravation she connects to the arguments.

I'm sure it's her personality but having said that we can all learn a so am I.
Now on my post Woman Leader, I acknowledge in verbatim how she acts so all knowing and superior that she went on accusing me of lack of the command for the English language, which given so, why emphasize kn negativity. Why not enhance a post and add value that we can all learn from.

In regards to this post, I truly appreciate all your additions Tom. I'm finishing my doctorate on international education but I just might change to social behavior, lol.

religious differences

Let's just say that is the case Galrads, thanks very much. Do you always ever act perfect? I rest my peace. Here iz for you galrads. May peace be with all of us, because when all is said and done, your peace to yourself us what counts.
Thanks for your presence. My apologies to all I've wronged. wine

religious differences

And this is sans the assumption that I am perfect. Of course not, you poke me or insult me and my natural instinct of self preservation prevails. Of which I should work harder on it. Peace to all.

religious differences

My pleasure Tom. And life should and must be a continously journey of learning. My hope for all, only then perhaps we can achieve the universal truth of achieving peace and unity.

I'm a cradled Catholic but when it comes to peace and practice of humility I find the philosophy of these two religions to be closest to the the truth if what we all seek. Peace.

Thanks Tom.

RE: They're coming through the windows.

Hello there Steve. Yes perhaps assimilation iz the key. Balance is the source of non invasive migration. Meaning we have to commit to an effort of assimilation without dominance or undermining the culture of the original inhabitants.
Iz that ever possible?
In the USA, almost all the Indians were wiped out and yet even today, they still practice some of their old values. At least I know some who do. One of my best friend in Hopland, California, home of the Pomo Indian. They still do some of their rituals.

It goes back to the original question posed in the beginning by Dalai Lama: "if all religions seek and advocate peace, why are we so divided and not achieving it?"

religious differences

I'm in reverence Tom.

When he mentioned about the fact that WE HAVE TO REACH or haven't reach the maximum potential of realizing our control to our agitated mind, it's possible then that levels of dimensions in life is of most importance. If sustain the study of Dr. Brian Weiss Many Lives Many Masters.

I'm still absorbing all these Tom. I'm just delving into Taoism and Buddhism and it does keep the mind achieve certain level of peace and positive trance.

religious differences

I gather two things obs, does it connote that those atheist are of superior demeanor and therefore arrogant? Or simply their own choosing to be free of justification kn their existence? Makes me wonder.
Now then if religion is equivalent to each one's way of life, how can it not be Z way to unite us? Considering that survival is no longer a need (basic I mean), why can't we just tolerate each one's way of life and let it be?
Note: not taking into account extremism.

religious differences

Awesome Tom. A most valuable learning and tool that leads mankind to understand the force religion can do to those who are united by the glue it provides. The question is: with so many beliefs that's different if not opposing each other, how can we achieve this unity that will lead us to rise above differences? Meaning, your religion is not for me, nor mine is for you but for the sake of all of us and peace, let's set it aside and live happily side by side?
Can this be the mode of our thinking?
