Well, I thought maybe just to take a bit of the edge off. But hopefully this USA forum will become more active with many different types of threads as well.

RE: what truly turns you off

LOL.."Teaching" adults how to eat with their mouth closed is really not high up on my agenda... I am pretty sure that to even say it in a real life situation would be taken in a defensive way. Interesting reply... but, It is pretty much for amusement from what I can tell so far..not that these things wouldn't really annoy someone..but sometimes you just have to choose wisely. ;-}

Is your State's major cities experiencing extreme protesting over the recent election?

I didn't know that...but I don't really follow the media. dunno as far as I know it is one of those things that seems to change over time in all places... But, it seems that everyone has an idea. ;-}

Is your State's major cities experiencing extreme protesting over the recent election?

Evidently the protestors here in Portland are still at it and now it is getting very different. At first the Portland Police tried to keep their position on the down low...well, meaning that not full on riot gear. But from the pictures I am seeing now ( I do not go down there )the Police are "gearing up" and made 70 some Arrests and there was also a shooting that has put it at a different level. Here is a link>>>

I just hope that people will not hurt each other and destroy property. And as for "Killing", that is just way over the edge.

yep, our mutual dear friend was actually the motivation for me to make this post. And as I posted above "that it is just a suggestion (maybe a plead)" that people from USA post here but I also am quite aware that many people Hot on this Agenda are not even in the USA and in my opinion simply enjoy the attention or kicking others while they are hoping to get their (our) Country in order. So those ones will be more likely to keep posting Internationally which it becomes "International" when we have people from other countries taking a interest in our politics "good or bad". You and I have been on this site for long enough to know that it is just too tempting for many not to play the USA political or "" card. I remember last time around we had "hot single dude" really worked up and selling everyone a certain politician in his crazy poll. ( I say "crazy" because he made it so you could vote over and over even if not logged in) well. who know.maybe some good threads will get going over here being as this is still very new to have a USA Forum.. Thanks for your post.

It is really up to us to try and create threads concerning our country onto this forum. I know that there are many already on the international site and it is hard not to reply when someone from another country continues to perpetuate certain posts, So, I am not saying that we should not stand tall...but maybe if we can use this forum to make it more useful it could be a good idea. thanks,,,,and of course it is only a suggestion.

RE: Congratulations Hillary!

No, your reply is simply a poor attempt to justify your constant "trolling" of the USA. And when any one even mentions yours you simply turn it around and again make these poor attempts to either blame the person you are replying to or the Country they are from.

As for your other remarks it is the same old baiting. If I read much of it I forget this is actually a "dating" site.

RE: Congratulations Hillary!

As much "joking" and "sarcasm" and little snide remarks you make towards My Country I am just a bit surprised. I can say from experience that if anyone on this Forum were to make even a possibly unfavorable comment or even something in jest that had any reference to your Country that you would be all over them and would not leave them alone until you were sure you had left a mark, or some kind of stain that would last for a long time. It is true that there are many people here that cast their votes and are not happy. It happens every 4 years. But this one seems to be especially convenient for your launching ill remarks and posturing. What I am saying is that even for you this is becoming beyond excessive. I suppose I will just have to lower the bar of what I once thought was "all time low".

Is your State's major cities experiencing extreme protesting over the recent election?

During these ongoing protests here in Portland it has been getting so out of hand with violence that they now have in custody some people that decided to shoot some protestors or protestor on the Morrison Bridge. Because here there is what the police have described as "peaceful protestors" but also "Anarchists" that have came out to use this situation to just go rampant and destroy property and hurt people randomly. So now as of today the mayor has said that they are going to have to be more strict in still honoring the right that people have to protest, but if they have not taken the correct steps or if they decide to push their way onto places they are not allowed ( many large groups have went and taken over the freeways and bashed in car windows even with people in the cars) so now they are saying that if you are out and doing the protesting and not staying in line they are going to just take you to jail. But even though they are saying this now there has still been many many arrests because it has just been thousands of protestors moving about the city with no respect at all for innocent bystanders or even other protestors and of course all the vandalism. SO, I am really hoping this will cool off as it is just too much and will not accomplish anything good.

RE: were you taught predudice against any race or religion as a child?pick most revelant answer to you.

You are very kind. I can only tell people from what I have experienced and at the same time I have to keep a hopeful thought for today and even for tomorrow and the future in whatever form it may take in this ever changing world. But if I was very fortunate I think I would meet someone as nice as you and maybe we would make a real "salute" cheers to the better times to be had while we are fortunate to walk this terrain.

RE: were you taught predudice against any race or religion as a child?pick most revelant answer to you.

What I learned was from experience, And what I learned is that it was all to often that people would judge me for different reasons that ranged from the Religious beliefs my Mother had to the fact my hair was longer and I took Ballet when I was a lot younger. The above went on in my pre teens and later when I decided to be a Hairstylist I was judged (discriminated against) by other stylists because I was a straight Male. And at the same time I was discriminated and even attacked both verbally and physically because people assumed I was "Gay". So unfortunately I learned that people often judge others on social status, Color, even the way we look without hesitation. As much as all this seemed to be a big let down I took on a belief long ago to either get to know people before I made any kind of judgement upon if they were unfair or dangerous...and to try and see the good attributes in people regardless of race, color or where they went to church (or no church at all). I could not vote in your poll as it did not seem to clarify exactly just what it meant being "taught". Meaning that you could be taught good or bad...you could have been taught one thing and have been disgusted by it and lived a life doing everything not to follow those "teachings".

RE: Whats the difference with Republicans and Democrats?

Hi SS, I think that in many ways the citizens of the USA are not so sure themselves.. And many that say they do know base many of their "beliefs" of it on how they see the world and in what they believe religiously. And it also has a lot to do with the constant actions from all the above being corrupt or even misleading in how they speak and their actions not reflecting those words. So you end up with some groups trying to change parts of the constitution or even using it to support the beliefs in how they interpret it. It is probably not the simple answer that you may have been looking for but in at least part I do believe this is the case.

Is your State's major cities experiencing extreme protesting over the recent election?

I was talking to someone here and they were saying that they had not heard of that many protests that were quite this extreme but it is hard to say...even the news seems unreliable. oh well. was just curious.

Is your State's major cities experiencing extreme protesting over the recent election?

I did not expect it last night but saw on both Twitter and tonight on the news (breaking through my favorite show) that here in Portland we have not just one but several groups protesting the Presidential Election results. It seems there is a group of peaceful protestors that are extremely committed to what they are doing but still obeying certain laws or guidelines. And then there is a Anarchists group that is running around in masks and hiding their faces as they destroy the Downtown areas and even smashing the windshields of vehicles with the drivers and passengers in them. As for the other groups I am just not that up on all the specifics. But listening to the Reporters ( who also were attacked) talking with the chief of police it seems that the police are trying not to get all suited up in the riot gear as to not escalate the situation. But as they said while I was listening it is constantly changing and they have to change the strategy to try and minimize the violence and at the same time protect people and property...property is pretty low on the list right now it seems. I watched several masked individuals with baseball bats just bust up so many storefronts I couldn't believe it. I also know that when the protestors start to make their way to the freeways they are being shutdown...at least the police try to keep them off the freeways it seems.
I know Seattle (the closest large city to us is also having the same issues though I can not say how that is being handled).

so I am curious how many other USA cities are experiencing the same thing (rioting) over this result of the Election.

doh

RE: The People Has Spoken: Trump our new Leader

Lindsy> I can tell you that "Mystic" is a very amazing Woman, an individual that no doubt will one day make her own legacy in this world, ( if has not already). Is it not interesting to see that there are many very definite lines of direction out in the world that reflect what is going on here in the USA? Did you know that last night after the election that many people here in the Portland downtown area (not too close to my home) took to the streets in violence and even busted up cars and so on. I hope that people here and all over the USA will come together at least enough to help make the long needed progress we have been lacking with the current Administration.
You know this is a Election that will be remembered a long time...I hope it is for all the good reasons! thumbs up

RE: USA's Presidential Election 2016.

I think you have it a bit mixed there but I can say that first hand you can vote for whoever you want being registered non partisan or of the other party in the General Elections. In the Primaries you can only vote for the party you belong to. I was registered as "Independent" and therefore only could vote on local agendas and had to wait to cast my final vote in the General Election. But even if I was a Registered Republican or Democrat I could still vote for anyone I wanted in the General Election opposed to staying within your own party during the Primaries.

For those that are still curious >>

RE: The trump wall.

Yes, it is practically to the point to where people are amazed if they actually do "any" of what they had said...like some of the famous ones are "no new taxes" or "No more War" LOL....so they just raise the "old" taxes and rename "war" into "campaign"...but seriously, being that Trump is coming in with this other aire of not really being a career politician and treating it all like a business and so on it will be something that we will have to see... I know that even in small town politics I watched as others I knew get into the City Council or Mayor and wow did they change fast.... Maybe a bit of polishing but I hope that Trump does not just become one of the cogs in the big machine.

RE: USA's Presidential Election 2016.

I know! Right? I think it must be some subliminal message they put on our screens. lol.

ah, but it is still nice when you do.

;-}

RE: The trump wall.

Well, It is very possible. But like most things here if there is any text beyond the initials they will also have it in several languages and Braille. I just hope that if they do build a wall that it is a good looking wall that is not an eyesore for either country. Just have to wait and see what happens. So often these elected individuals do not do a lot of what they say they will. Something else always seems to take a front seat to the other agenda....time will tell.

RE: Trump seems to have won....

yes,,,,and this "Live" Fox is still talking about the chance of it going the other way!! I would be embarrassed if I was them on the live tv and so clueless!!! lol

Maybe they are just thinking they can change something doh

ok...they were all so surprised as someone finally told them what the numbers are! lol, and I almost changed the channel but the look on their faces was priceless! Looks like he is going to talk now.

hmmmm.

Definitely a huge "upset" for the history books..

RE: Trump seems to have won....

Trump 276 --------------------------------Hillary 218

RE: Trump seems to have won....

LOL...I don't know what is wrong with fox ...They are saying Trump might come out and talk but they still don't even get their numbers correct. I think this is surprising to a lot of people though I remember a few months ago talking to a good friend which was talking about that "silent majority" of voters that are not always taken into consideration till they actually do get out and vote. I think maybe more people did get out there and vote... Who knows,, ;-}

RE: Trump seems to have won....

LOL.. you beat me to it "Epirb", was just going to say the same. House and the senate are won by the Republicans.

RE: Trump seems to have won....

funny how Fox news "live" has Hillary at 218 and Trump at 254 (they are obviously confused) as Trump has 266.

doh

RE: Trump seems to have won....

It ain't over till you know what! lol. But compared to last election where they would not give a final answer for what seemed like forever I think we will know the outcome of who the new President is much sooner. I still hope (as always) that whoever does win that people in the USA will work together instead of just always trying to sabotage the other party. Right now as I post this "He" needs 4 more and "she" needs 52..... So, then there is that.

RE: USA's Presidential Election 2016.

It is good to see you are doing well and very nice to see you pop in from time to time.
