My Son Got Involved With This Woman Some Years Ago...They Got Married In A Flash...And Started To Live Together At Her Fathers House....Her Fathers Name Was Ron(A Simple Man..Who From What I Heard...Allowed His Former Wife To Run His Life...He Wasnt a Fighter At All...She Would Walk All Over Him..Call Him Names And He Would Just Sit There And Take It)....During This Time I Was Driving Tractor Trailer...And Would Be Gone For Two Weeks At A Time...There Was No Need To Have A Place To Live ...Seeing Id Only Be Back For Two Days...And Then Back On The Road Again...So I Would Just Stay There For Those Two Days Off...This Went On For A Year...And Then I Got A Local Job Driving A Tractor Trailer...And Before You Knew It...I Was Living There Also With Them
After About A Year Of This Way Of Living...All Of A Sudden...My Sons Wife Said She Didnt Love Him Anymore(At This Very Same Time..I Got Laid Off From The Driving Job)Instead Of Throwing Me And My Son Out...She Packed Her Bags And Took Off(Luckily..There Were No Kids Involved)...Now It Was Us Three Living There...
After A Couple Of Months...My Son Couldnt Take Living There Any More(Memories)..And He Left... To Live With Another Woman He Met
Now...Its Just Me And Ron
Come To Find Out..Ronss Mind Was Going...Found Retirement Checks All Over The House...Un Cashed(Mortgage Wasnt Paid In 6 Months)...At This Moment Is When I Became In Charge Of The Situation
It Ended Up Where I Was Power Of Attorney..And Took Care Of All Of His Affairs...As Time Went By... His Mind Kept Getting Worse...Two Times To The Hospital(Which Saved His Life(Minor Strokes)
To Cut A Very Long Sad Story Short
About A Year And A Half Ago...I Came Back To Find Him On The Floor(Not Able To Move)...Looking Up At Me...I Said "Ron..Whats The Matter?"

No Response...Just Looking At Me...So I Lifted Him Up And Got Him On A Chair...No Response To Any Questions Id Ask
It Took A While...And Then It Dawned On Me...(He was Having A Stroke)I Had No Experience In This And Thats Why It Took Me So Long To Know...I Called For An Ambulance..And They Took Him To The Hospital
By This Time It Was Too Late For Them To Reverse The Effects Of The Stroke With Their Medicine
He Ended Up In A Nursing Home With A Tube In His Stomach(To Eat)
Permanately Paralyzed On His Left Side
Unable To Swallow...Unable To Speak...Un Able To Move
And He Could Never Come Back To His Home
If I Had Won The Lottery...I Would Have Taken Him Outta There
And Gave Him A Proper Home(With Attendance To Take Care Of Him)
But Whos got Money For That?
Anyway...I Just Got The News Today..That After A Year And A Half...Living In That Condition
They Found Him Unresponsive In His Bed(Yesterday)
I Went There And
They Asked Me If I Wanted Them To Try And Resuscitate Him
I Said No...Let Him Go
My Decision Was based On This
What Kind Of A Life Was He Having?
A Life Of Hell On Earth.... Im Sure I Made The Right Decision

Ill Always Remember Ron...He Was A Kind And Decent Guy

Its A Sad Ending In One Way
But A Happy Ending In Another Way
