I'm based in Panajachel Guatemala for a while. However right now I am staying across Lake Atitlan in a little Indian town called San Pedro. There's plenty of hippie backpackers here cause this is right at the foot of San Pedro volcano. And some people like to try and climb to the top. It's a tough climb I hear. Just walking up and down some of the steep streets here is enough for me. Maybe 30 years ago I would have tried it. Anyway sort of reminds me of this song. Oh and some people get robbed on the trail up if they don't have a local guide.
Did you know the Pointer Sisters were the first black female singers to perform at the Grand Ole Opry in 1975. They also won a Grammy for "Fairytail". In the video Anita Pointer sings the lead in a song written by her and sister Bonnie. I love this video, perhaps some of you will too.

As I've grow older I've discovered that the inner hippie I was thought long gone is still alive and kicking. I still have a full head of hair and I don't enjoy trips to the barber shop, so I figure what the heck why not let my freak flag fly again, before my hair falls out and I would look like Bozo if I let what remained on the sides grow long. And I have to admit just the thought of it has been empowering, and I can feel a Samson like strength starting to awaken. And the money I save on haircuts can be used to support my drinking habit.
