Pleasant eye opener.....

...hope, perhaps, even for me. Finishing "In the Closet of the Vatican" here in our coop food store, where I socialize, read and write, some. Girls spring skiing with mom. Discussing his soon to be released book by a fellow doc, with him. To be published by Oxford U. Press---not too shabby. He describes US pre civil war medicine here in Maine. Arsenic, bleeding and leeches. Chloroform surgical anesthesia! Fellow sitting near by asks what I am reading, and he gets the book's name,----and kindly endures the tedious Aaltarboy spiel. Turns out, he is a 30 something homosexual, and had lots of words of wisdom for two aging scientific types. He bemoans the frenetic PC push of activists and the alt left media to have the world make homosexuality seem on par in terms of sexuality with the other 95 percent of male humanity. He prefers monogamy, and condemns the deadly wanton s*xual compulsions of his ilk, especially in the 80's and 90's, leading to the rapid spread of HIV AIDS. Shockingly, he clains this sort of unprotected/anonymous craziness still goes on, especially among gays under 40. He says that male homosexuals, at least here in the West, between the ages of 45 and 70, are a particularly lonely group, and are largely the ones responsible for the crazy s*xual behaviors, at least the ones who survived. They now pay with loneliness. Thankfully, the Internet is making meeting someone for a committed relationship somewhat easier than other venues, but warns of the same scammer downside we put up with here on CS. But here's the kicker. He agrees with my hypothesis on wanton abandon by male gays of public health safety during wild weekends. Namely, he believes that such compulsive acting out sorts behaviorally with choice of the homosexual lifestyle, in terms of genomics, and possibly environmental factors. So men of power in the RC Church tend to have so many notches on their six shooters. Gobsmacked, pleasantly. My experience with this culture has been totally different, up to now. He says, further, that most homosexuals would prefer monogamy, but that many factors in out environment don't exactly help.
