Left or Right
"Left or Right.Liberal or Conservative.
Democrat or Republican.
And don’t mess with Mister In-Between.
The Left-Right, them-or-us, all-or-nothing dichotomy is what Philosophers call a false dilemma.
That’s when you claim that there are only two options, and it’s an either/or choice.
“Either you’re with us, or you’re with the terrorists.”
Well, pardon me, but I don’t have to be with you OR with “the terrorists” (assuming for the moment that there’s a difference between those two things).
There may be an infinite range of choices between those two extremes. Indeed, they're almost always is — and I say “almost” only because, although I don’t know of an exception, I accept the theoretical possibility that there might be one, and, no, whatever you’re thinking isn't
Anyone who takes a close look at governments around the world and over time will discover that even though so-called “communism” and fascism are supposed to be polar opposites on the left-right scale, in practice, they look a whole lot alike. Indeed, almost indistinguishable. In both cases, someone you don’t know has decided to tell you how you must live your life, and your job is to shut up and do what you’re told, or ELSE. No critical thinking is required. In fact, it’s not allowed.
The Right and the Left may fight about which of them is going to get to tell you what to do, but NEITHER of them is arguing that you should decide for yourself.
I submit that the left-right paradigm we are sold is a scam.
It doesn’t matter which tie you buy; your money is still going into the pocket of the same salesman.
"
Using this model, government control — whether you want to call it communism, fascism or any-other-f*cking-ism — is all on the same end of the scale. Individual freedom is at the opposite end.
Everything in between is some kind of compromise, and there are innumerable possibilities.

That Hungarian man you met must have been in the early stages of dementia to make such an absurd comparison.
I was just listening to Jordan Peterson and he was talking about when people identify with the extremes of both left and right. He says when that happens, tribalism can occur. He went on to say that tribalism can lead to bloodshed, which is obviously a dangerous thing....kind of like a civil war if you will.
My point was that some people are so blindly in hate with one side that they don't see how their preferred candidate makes a fool of them too.
In the universe, we have a law of three...the positive, negative and neutral force ...sometimes, neutral force is called invisible force. Without neutral force, agreement and balance are not achievable.
As Jonny pointed out , when left and right become the extreme opposite, the possibility of civil war forms.
people are absolutely terrified when you mention Anarchism ..by the way, is that left or right?
Still I see tendencies, on the left yes. Examples:
-no borders, flow in, registrate then let loose into society (usa and U.K esp.)
-changing age old traffic rules as cars are now "bad",
meaning soft commuters are the new holy cows;
they can break rules in the name of environment.
due to my age
TRUMP
That should be changed.
Right now it's Benfica vs Porto with flaires in the tribune.
oz
His lies will catch up with him one day and he will have to face whatever punishment is deemed suitable.
Not saying Biden is much better, but Biden's lie's are self-preservation and ignorance, Trump didn't have that excuse, but lied to boost his ego
I dislike any form of cult worship, Trump was a master at building a cult following, he is still a God in many eyes, taken in by the BS and propaganda his sycophants spread and keep spreading.
Sorry.
I only wish I could see your real smile and not that Jason mask... my only wish
I think you’ve summed up the root of the problem very well.
