Trapped in Darkness........

Short Story

Roxy found herself trap in darkness, nowhere to go, and nowhere to hind. As if her eyes had been clouded from the world around her, she felt alone and scared. Her past feelings of love and comfort had been crushed, and no longer living. Roxy searched for something, anything really. Anything that could help out of this black, dark, and lonesome place.

Before she know it, a light showed itself in a doorway. Roxy walked through it, hoping it would be better than the last place. But all she found was a mirror. She looked at herself and her wavy long red hair looked like a rat’s nest and wet. Her make-up had been ruined from what looks as if she been crying. Roxy stared at herself and wonder how she had gotten this way. How did she even end up in that dark place before? But she didn’t care. She told herself it would never happen again.

She fixed her hair and whapped away the ruined make-up. She saw her old self again, the once cheerful and loving person she was.

Roxy sat up in her bed and peered over to the other side. Only to see Marcus, her long time boyfriend. He laid there caress in his dreams, whatever they maybe. There is reason for the dream I had, she thought.

By late morning Marcus was gone, but Roxy didn’t feel alone, as she thought she would. She felt better, relief ran over her as the waves of the sea upon a rocky shore. She felt FREE………
