Me and my ex bf had a date and he was extremely jealous with the singer of the band of the bar that we went. What does this mean?

I think he felt a little insecure or maybe inferior because he might not have the same singing talent or the same power of attraction towards women that the band singer had and this because he was with someone he once loved and not necessary with someone he still loved even though this could also be possible.
