The love of my life
The love of my lifeI'l never forget the day we first met,
You stood so tall, long hair and all,
I Was not sure if you were a girl or boy.
I glanced at you once, thought, no chance,
But as the night went on, I knew you were the one,
We where teenage lovers, when we went out with one another,
The love I had for you, I did not want no other,
Three days a week we would see one another,
As work stopped us from being together,
I would sit by the phone every night,
Just for it to ring we would chat till morning light,
Years went by, our hearts grew stronger,
Carrying our first born, you nearly lost us both,
But with gods caring hand, helped us survive,
With one lovely child it soon became five,
We lost one on the way, which left us with four,
As god wanted, baby Paul,
As time went on we raised our kids,
Then came all our grandkids, which we both cherished,
What went wrong along the way, our love?
For each other started dying day by day.
I just felt you push me away
Then the day came, struck by an illness,
That dreaded C word that everyone hated,
The time came to say good bye,
But my love for you will never die
