I am truly blessed!

Today was very special to me. My son met me at a lake and we went fishing. We sat there and talked, ate some snacks and we had a great time.

This slammed a lid on all the problems my ex gave me when I visited the kids (a boy and girl set of twins) in their early years. Years of aggravation and trying to control my visits with the kids came to end officially today.

One of the controlling things was the tarnation she gave when I wanted to take them fishing because she was sure I would not take proper care of them and something catastrophic would happen. I wanted to pummel her! The audacity of her thinking that their own father would be careless with them.

Years passed and when they got older I tried to get them to come fishing with me but they weren't interested. Today that changed with my son. My daughter? She definitely won't go fishing but we do other things together. Sometimes the 3 of us get together and we have happy visits.

I am truly blessed! All praise and glory goes to our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!

Hi Ed! Glad to hear you had a great day! And thank you for the great blog... I think this is an example of a blog in the proper sense. teddybear
Jana, I think so highly of you that I was hoping you would comment. Thank you my dear sweet friend.
@ Jana, you are so right that this is a perfect example of what a blog should be.

I am truly happy for you Ed. I don't see my daughter too often but when I do, such as recently for Thanksgiving, I make the best of the day because I don't know when I'll see her again.
Ed, I am flattered blushing hug kiss

Montecito, I think the genre of real blog is actually rarely met here. No matter how easy it seems to be it has some subtle specific and requires some special attitude and skills. For example none of my blogs is strictly in the genre. Maybe I will try someday when I feel it :) So I highly appreciate this blog and not to mention its valuable content...

Like yours, my daughter is most of the time far from home so I get you very well! We are counting the days till she ll be back for Christmas and New Year! And planning and organizing things so she spends a great time while she s here :)) wave
@ montecito: Thank you for your kinds words. AHHHH yes, children and grandchildren; so wonderful and Gods gifts to us. Amen!
There's no greater love than this...you are truly blessed! I was an absentee mom when my kids are little because I was the one working. My kids only knew I was not there and I missed out on my chance to establish a physical/psychological bond with them. I struggled to win their love and approval for years. But now they are older, things have changed. I guess they now realize how much I had to sacrifice to give them the chance for a brighter future. Even the simplest picnic on a park with them can really make my day! I know how you are feeling...may the Lord continually bless you and your kids...
Ed,
What a wonderful story to share.....smile I'm sure the smile on your face, and in your heart, will reamin for a long whilethumbs up
Thanks to the above ladies. Yeppers, I was still smiling today!
